      Kinshasa Symphony

Documentary following the 100-strong Orchestre Symphonique Kimbanquiste in the Democratic Republic of Congo as they prepare for a major open-air concert marking the country's independence. The musicians often make and repair their instruments using whatever they can find, such as replacing the broken strings on a violin with a bicycle's brake cables. They have never performed classical music before but have prepared an ambitious programme for the event, and refuse to allow the difficult conditions they work in to diminish their ambitions
