With 50 Bargain Buys planning to open across the country, the programme visits a standalone branch in St Helens to discover how divisional manager June and new recruit Dom plan to make this new shop a success. Plus, Chris visits Chester, where the opening of a local Poundworld had a significant impact on stall-holders operating in the city's 150-year-old market-place

      The eight remaining home-bakers face a challenge of a different kind, as Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins reveal that the contestants must work their way through this week's tasks using alternatives to commonly-used ingredients. For the signature bake, they are asked to create a variety of sugar-free cakes, and one competitor decides to take an even healthier step by preparing a cake without any traditional form of flour. Next up, in the technical challenge, Paul Hollywood sets the bakers to work making gluten-free pittas using a particularly sticky dough, and for the showstoppers, they must create dairy-free ice-cream rolls

      Sue Perkins immerses herself in the complexities of life in the West Bengal state capital, formerly known as Calcutta, to detail how the city once known for its notorious 'black hole' dungeon and impoverished street people has transformed into a diverse, 21st-century megacity with a booming property market and a reputation for tolerance. She meets some of Kolkata's 250,000 'street kids', who spend their time hustling for a living, and the wealthy young entrepreneurs who race their high-performance cars down the streets of New Town. She also navigates the city's narrow lanes with rickshaw wallahs, and descends into Kolkata's Victorian-era sewers as part of a large-scale clean-up project
