  • Season 9 Episode 20: The Truth - Part Two

    Part two of two. Mulder is found guilty of murder, despite Scully proving his supposed victim is still alive, and faces execution. Before his sentence can be carried out, he is broken out of prison by Doggett and Skinner and escapes with Scully into the New Mexico desert, where a man who knows the truth about the coming invasion is believed to be hiding. Last-ever episode of the sci-fi drama

  • Season 9 Episode 19: The Truth - Part One

    David Duchovny returns for the last-ever episode of the hugely popular sci-fi series, a feature-length story which sees Mulder on trial for the murder of super-soldier Knowle Rohrer, who tried to prevent him gaining access to top-secret data at the Mount Weather complex. As the court case begins, several defence witnesses come forward to support his theory regarding a government cover-up and the existence of alien life-forms : will it be enough to prove his innocence?   • Season 9 Episode 18: Sunshine Days

    The agents take on the case of a man who was killed while trying to break into a house. A background check on the owner of the property reveals he was once the subject of an experiment in psychic powers. After a second death, they discover he has the power to alter reality and may represent the proof of the paranormal they have sought all these years. Lost's Michael Emerson guest stars

  • Season 9 Episode 17: Release

    FBI cadet Hayes shows almost superhuman intuition while helping Scully with a murder investigation. Doggett decides to seek the gifted trainee's help in finally identifying his son's killer, only to find Hayes has already developed an obsession with the boy's death, claiming the current case is the work of the same murderer. However, it emerges that Hayes may not be who he claims to be

  • Season 9 Episode 16: William

    A disfigured man is caught breaking into Mulder's old office. He tells Scully he was the subject of experiments performed by the conspiracy and that Mulder sent him to gather evidence so he could bring those responsible to justice. When the name he gives them turns out to be false, the agents question who he really is and what he was after, while Doggett suspects the deformed man is Mulder himself

  • Season 9 Episode 15: Jump the Shark

    The Lone Gunmen are presented with evidence that their old friend Adele Harlow is a super-soldier who has murdered a professor. Suspicious of the source of the information, they go in search of Adele, only to discover she is engaged in an attempt to prevent a deadly terrorist attack. Michael McKean guest stars in an episode wrapping up The Lone Gunmen spin-off series

  • Season 9 Episode 14: Scary Monsters

    A young agent who hero worships Mulder turns to Scully for help in investigating an eight-year-old boy's claims that monsters infesting his home killed his mother. When Scully dismisses the case as a simple suicide, the agent turns to Doggett and Reyes for help, and they become convinced the boy's father is hiding something from them

  • Season 9 Episode 13: Improbable

    The agents pursue a serial killer. Reyes becomes convinced the murderer's actions are determined by a pattern of numbers, and that working out the sequence will provide the key to catching him. The agents also encounter a mysterious stranger with a love of game, who appears to be watching the killer's every move. Burt Reynolds and Ellen Greene guest star

  • Season 9 Episode 12: Underneath

    A man in jail for murder is proven innocent by new evidence and released. Doggett, who arrested him in the first place, is convinced he is guilty and will kill again. While the ex-convict is troubled by strange apparitions urging him to violence, Reyes discovers an incident that occurred in prison that suggests a mysterious presence is haunting him

  • Season 9 Episode 11: The X Files (Audrey Pauley)

    Reyes is critically injured in a car crash. While she is rushed to hospital in a coma, she finds herself in a strange netherworld between life and death and tries to find her way back to the land of the living before her life support is switched off. Doggett tries to find a way to help her, and meets a mysterious woman who seems to be able to exist in both worlds

  • Season 9 Episode 10: The X Files (Providence)

    Part two of two. Scully searches for her kidnapped baby, who has been taken by a UFO-worshipping cult. Her quest leads her to a Gulf War veteran who reveals the role he believes her son is destined to play in Earth's future. Reyes watches over a comatose Doggett, while Follmer tries to convince Reyes that while she has enemies in the FBI, he is not one of them

  • Season 9 Episode 9: Provenance

    Part one of two. A man seemingly killed in a motorcycle crash is found to have evidence of a crashed UFO, matching the one Scully found in Africa, and which may prove aliens have been interfering with human development for millennia. The dead man turns out to be alive and well, and reveals he is an undercover agent infiltrating a cult that have sinister plans for Scully's baby

  • Season 9 Episode 8: Hellbound

    A member of a support group for ex-convicts suffers disturbing visions, and is later found skinned alive. Reyes suspects he may have had a premonition of his death. As another member of the group is found killed in a similar manner, the agents discover a possible connection to a similar series of murders in the 1960s

  • Season 9 Episode 7: John Doe

    Doggett wakes up in Mexico with no memory of who he is or how he got there. Thrown in jail, he is befriended by a local criminal who seeks his help with his illegal activities and tries to convince him he is an escaped killer. Scully and Reyes go looking for the missing agent, while Doggett learns his criminal benefactor knows far more about what has happened than he is letting on

  • Season 9 Episode 6: Trust No 1

    Scully meets a couple who think their child has special abilities, while a shadowy figure tries to persuade her to lure Mulder out of seclusion. Sci-fi drama, guest starring Kathryn Joosten, with Gillian Anderson

  • Season 9 Episode 5: Lord of the Flies

    The agents investigate the death of a daredevil reality TV star, and discover his brain has been eaten by flies. Initially suspecting the producer of the show. Their case takes a weirder turn when their chief suspect, the producer of the show, is attacked by lice, leading them to a boy who is an obsessive fan and has the power to make insects do his bidding. Guest starring Jane Lynch (Glee)

  • Season 9 Episode 4: 4-D

    Doggett disappears without trace and instantly turns up in a hospital, having been shot and critically injured. Reyes searches for the culprit and finds a serial killer who has the ability to travel into parallel universes where he can commit murder without consequence. The hospitalised Doggett originates from that universe - and the only way to put things right may be to allow him to die

  • Season 9 Episode 3: Daemonicus

    Doggett and Reyes investigate a double murder with elements of Satanic ritual. The prime suspect is a murderer who has escaped from a mental hospital with the aid of a guard, but when they visit the asylum, they encounter a sinister inmate. Doggett starts to realise he may be manipulating events, while Reyes thinks he is the Devil himself

  • Season 9 Episode 2: Nothing Important Happened Today - Part Two

    Part two of two. The aquatic human alien hybrid seeks Doggett's help in exposing the men who made her what she is and stopping them continuing their plan to add mutating chemicals to the water supply. However, Reyes discovers evidence that she is not to be trusted. A tip-off from the lone gunmen leads the agents to evidence of a strange experiment. Lucy Lawless guest stars

  • Season 9 Episode 1: Nothing Important Happened Today - Part One

    Part one of two. Doggett's investigation into Director Kersh is jeopardised when the evidence disappears and a new director questions his actions. Mulder goes missing, while Scully's baby displays strange abilities. An alien human hybrid with the ability to breath underwater commits a series of murders. Cary Elwes and Lucy Lawless guest star

The X Files: Season 8 (2000 - 2001)

  • Season 8 Episode 21: Existence

    Part two of two. Scully goes into hiding to give birth as the alien assassin Billy Miles returns to life. Krycek reveals to Skinner and Mulder that Billy is a new breed of alien that has been created to repopulate Earth - but Knowle Rohrer gives Doggett an alternative explanation for Billy's abilities, leaving them uncertain who to believe

  • Season 8 Episode 20: Essence

    Part one of two. A doctor suspected of experimenting with the impregnation of extraterrestrial life forms is killed in an arson attack on a genetics laboratory. Mulder and Doggett rush to the scene where they find an alien replicant trying to erase all evidence of the illegal tests, and learn that the woman helping Scully at home is also in on the conspiracy, prompting them to rush to her protection

  • Season 8 Episode 19: Alone

    Doggett is assigned a new partner, who has been obsessed with the X Files for years. The pair go to investigate a murder in upstate New York, only to end up trapped in an underground cave at the mercy of a reptile creature that blinds its prey with venom. When they do not report in, Skinner sets up a search party, while Mulder carries out his own unofficial investigation

  • Season 8 Episode 18: Vienen

    Mulder continues to discreetly investigate the X Files, despite being assigned elsewhere, and becomes convinced the death of an oil rig worker is the result of the aliens' black oil virus. Joining Doggett on his investigation, they find traces of the deadly chemical and have the rig quarantined - but they soon face a battle for survival when they discover all the crew are contaminated

  • Season 8 Episode 17: Empedocles

    Reyes is assigned to the case of a man who shot his boss after being fired, and experiences a strange vision while examining the body. Becoming convinced supernatural forces were involved in the killing, she enlists Mulder's help and reveals she had a similar experience when investigating the murder of Doggett's son. However, Doggett does not take kindly to his past being dug up

  • Season 8 Episode 16: Three Words

    A man kills himself while trying to break into the White House, seemingly to warn the President about an impending alien invasion. He turns out to be a follower of UFO cultist Absalom, who breaks out of prison and takes Doggett hostage, hoping to use him to gain access to evidence of alien activity on Earth. Mulder encounters opposition in his efforts to return to the X Files

  • Season 8 Episode 15: Deadalive

    Part two of two. Alien abductee Billy Miles returns from the dead after three months, giving Scully hope that Mulder can also be resurrected. After the body is exhumed, he is found to be just barely alive. Krycek offers to provide Skinner with the means to restore Mulder, but his help comes at a terrible price - he demands that Scully's baby must not be allowed to be born

  • Season 8 Episode 14: This is Not Happening

    Part one of two. A woman who was abducted by aliens at the same time as Mulder is returned to Earth, but is just barely alive. Scully believes she may be able to reveal what has become of Mulder, but before she can be questioned, she is taken from the hospital by alien faith healer Jeremiah Smith. The search for her leads the agents to a doomsday cult

  • Season 8 Episode 13: Per Manum

    The husband of an alien abductee who died in childbirth seeks Doggett and Scully's help, claiming the baby was an alien human hybrid and the scientists responsible took it away when it was born. Scully is struck by the similarity between the dead woman's experiences and her own, leaving her afraid her unborn baby is also a hybrid and that they will suffer the same fate.   • Season 8 Episode 12: Medusa

    A transit cop is found dead on a subway train after a confrontation with a mugger, with acid burns on his body. Doggett leads an exploration of the tunnels hoping to find the cause of death and discover several bodies with similar injuries wrapped in plastic, suggesting someone is trying to cover up whatever killed them

  • Season 8 Episode 11: The Gift

    Doggett's investigation into Mulder's disappearance leads him to look into one of the missing agent's old cases. He finds evidence that Mulder may have killed someone, and suspects he could have fled justice rather than being abducted. As he delves further, he discovers the case involved a creature of Native American folklore that feeds on disease

  • Season 8 Episode 10: Badlaa

    A man is found torn apart after returning from India, with the autopsy revealing something burst out of his body - but also that he had been dead long before he returned to the States. Scully and Doggett discover they are pursuing an Indian mystic, who is able to enter people's bodies and control them, and who is seeking revenge

  • Season 8 Episode 9: Salvage

    Scully and Doggett investigate a suspicious death, and discover evidence that the killer is a supposedly dead Gulf War veteran. As more deaths occur, they learn the soldier had been involved in experiments to create an intelligent, self-repairing alloy. As a result, his body is now transforming into living metal

  • Season 8 Episode 8: SureKill

    A man desperate for police protection is locked up but is suddenly shot in the head. Scully and Doggett trace the path of the bullet and discover it was fired from two storeys up, passing through several walls. As they trace the killer back to a pest control company, Scully comes to the conclusion they are pursuing a murderer with X-ray vision

  • Season 8 Episode 7: Via Negativa

    Doggett and Skinner investigate the mass murder of a religious sect, all killed with an axe blow to the head, and find the leader of the group is still missing. They discover the cult leader uses hallucinogenic drugs to grant him the power to psychically enter people's nightmares - and those he kills in their dreams die in reality

  • Season 8 Episode 6: Redrum

    An old friend of Doggett's wakes up in prison with no idea how he got there, and is later killed by his own father-in-law. He wakes up again to find it is the day before, and that he is experiencing life in reverse order. He learns he was imprisoned for killing his wife, a crime he claims he never committed - but as time moves backwards, the day of the murder approaches. Danny Trejo guest stars

  • Season 8 Episode 5: Invocation

    Scully and Doggett investigate the strange case of a seven-year-old boy who reappears 10 years after going missing, but has not aged a single day in the intervening time. Doggett is convinced the boy was kidnapped and tries to find out who was responsible, as the case brings back memories of a traumatic incident in his own family

  • Season 8 Episode 4: Roadrunners

    A disabled man is stoned to death in a remote town in Utah. Scully heads off to investigate the case alone, leaving a disgruntled Doggett behind, only to end up stranded. Strange rituals and a man with a strange wound on his back leave her convinced something unnatural is going on - a suspicion confirmed when she falls victim to a bizarre religious cult whose members worship a parasitic organism

  • Season 8 Episode 3: Patience

    Doggett's first X-Files case involves the deaths of a couple found with strange bite marks on their bodies. While he believes their deaths were the work of a psychopathic but all too human killer, Scully discovers strange chemicals in the wounds and signs of something hanging upside down in the vicinity that point to a bat-like monster roaming the area

  • Season 8 Episode 2: Without

    Part two of two. Scully, Skinner and Doggett realise that what they thought was Mulder is an alien bounty hunter who has assumed his form, and that he is coming for telepath Gibson Praise as part of a mission to remove all evidence of alien activity on Earth. The agents try to protect their boy, but the shape-changing alien has already infiltrated the FBI task force

  • Season 8 Episode 1: Within

    Part one of two. An FBI task force led by Agent John Doggett is set up to find the missing Mulder. Suspicious of the official inquiry, Scully and Skinner conduct their own secret investigation, learning the UFO that took Mulder has returned to carry out another abduction. Meanwhile, Doggett discovers who the target is - telepathic chess prodigy Gibson Praise

The X Files: Season 7 (1999 - 2000)

  • Season 7 Episode 22: Requiem

    Mulder and Scully return to the site of their first investigation together after being contacted by former alien abductee Billy Miles, who claims a UFO has crashed in the woods. As more abductions occur, the dying Cigarette Smoking Man recruits Krycek and Covarrubias to his cause, telling them that the crashed spacecraft offers the means to rebuild the conspiracy

  • Season 7 Episode 21: Je Souhaite

    Mulder and Scully are contacted by a man whose mouth simply disappeared. A series of other inexplicable events, including the appearance of an invisible corpse, leads Mulder to an encounter with a genie who grants him three wishes. However, everyone she has previously offered this gift to has suffered a tragic end and the only way to avoid this fate is to make a truly selfless wish

  • Season 7 Episode 20: Fight Club

    Mulder and Scully investigate the case of two identical women who are not aware of each other, but who somehow mentally inspire violence in other people whenever they are near one another. The agents try to keep the two women as far apart as possible - a tricky task when they both fall for the same man. Comedienne Kathy Griffin guest stars in a dual role

  • Season 7 Episode 19: Hollywood AD

    Mulder and Scully are joined on the investigation into a bombing at a church by a film-maker, who wants to make their cases the basis for his new movie. In the crypt, they discover the remains of a missing counter culture activist an an ancient artefact with the power to raise the dead. Téa Leoni and Garry Shandling guest star in an episode written and directed by David Duchovny

  • Season 7 Episode 18: Brand X

    A scientist testifying against a tobacco corporation is killed while under Skinner's protection. Mulder and Scully discover the company's illicit experiments have created a deadly strain of beetle that lays eggs in the smoke and eats the lungs of those who inhale them. As Mulder falls prey to the bugs, his only hope is the surviving human test subject. Saw's Tobin Bell guest stars

  • Season 7 Episode 17: All Things

    As Mulder flies off to the UK to investigate crop circles, Scully is reunited with a former lover who has been taken to hospital suffering chest pains. She reflects on how her life might have turned out differently had they stayed together, and begins to consider the possibility that faith healing might be they key to saving his life. Written and directed by Gillian Anderson

  • Season 7 Episode 16: Chimera

    Mulder investigates the disappearance of a judge's daughter and is intrigued by the presence of a raven in her home shortly before she vanished. When the missing woman is found pecked to death by birds, he suspects an evil spirit is at work. Meanwhile, Scully's pursuit of an elusive female serial killer somehow able to vanish without trace yields unexpected results

  • Season 7 Episode 15: En Ami

    Scully investigates the case of a boy who miraculously recovered from cancer, only to run in to the Cigarette Smoking Man. He claims to have cured the boy and wants to pass on the means to her before he dies. Despite her suspicions, she joins him on a journey in search of the cure, keeping Mulder in the dark. However, he discovers evidence that something sinister is being planned

  • Season 7 Episode 14: Theef

    A doctor wins a prestigious award the same night his father-in-law is found brutally murdered. Mulder and Scully investigate the killing and find the victim and several other members of the physician's family have developed rare diseases. The discovery of dirt used in occult rituals leads Mulder to suspect someone is using witchcraft against the family

  • Season 7 Episode 13: First Person Shooter

    A man playing a virtual reality combat game is killed under mysterious circumstances. Mulder and Scully discover that a female character created by the game's programmers has developed the ability to make those killed in the game die in real life. When the agents enter the virtual world, they become trapped in a deadly battle for survival. Co-written by sci-fi author William Gibson

  • Season 7 Episode 12: X-Cops

    A film crew from fly-on-the-wall documentary show Cops follows Mulder and Scully as they hunt for a werewolf on the loose in Los Angeles, and Mulder jumps at the chance to prove the existence of the supernatural on national TV. As reports of other monsters being sighted in the city emerge, he begins to suspect they are dealing with a shape-changing creature

  • Season 7 Episode 11: Closure

    Part two of two. A psychic helps Mulder to find a missing girl. He claims that benign spirits sometimes take children away to spare them further suffering, and believes this has happened to both the girl they are searching for and Mulder's sister. A suspicious Scully uses more conventional detective work to get to the truth, and learns of a connection between Mulder's sister and the Cigarette Smoking Man

  • Season 7 Episode 10: Sein und Zeit

    Part one of two. Mulder takes on the case of a missing child, believing there is a connection to an earlier abduction, but Scully fears he is too emotionally involved owing to his sister's disappearance. Mulder learns that his mother has committed suicide, while a visit to a woman imprisoned for murder after her son vanished offers him a clue to his sister's fate

  • Season 7 Episode 9: Signs and Wonders

    A man is found dead in a locked car from hundreds of snake bites, with no snakes to be found. Mulder and Scully discover he had left a fundamentalist Christian sect who handle snakes as part of their rituals, throwing suspicion on the group's reverend - but when the preacher is also killed in a similar manner, a more terrifying theory presents itself

  • Season 7 Episode 8: The Amazing Maleeni

    A magician performs the show-stopping trick of turning his head through 360 degrees on stage, but is later found decapitated. Mulder and Scully investigate the murder, but an autopsy on the body reveals that he was already dead at the time an audience witnessed his final show. Suspicion falls on the dead illusionist's brother, who is planning the perfect crime. Magician Ricky Jay guest stars

  • Season 7 Episode 7: Orison

    Donald Pfaster, a death fetishist who once abducted Scully, breaks out of prison. The criminal is now intent on catching up with her, as she is the only victim to escape his clutches. Mulder investigates how Pfaster got out in the first place, and discovers a preacher at the prison is using hypnosis to allow the inmates to slip away unnoticed

  • Season 7 Episode 6: The Goldberg Variation

    Mulder and Scully investigate the case of a man who was thrown from a 29-storey building by gangsters but miraculously survived. The man, who had previously walked away from a plane crash, turns out to simply be the luckiest man in the world - but every time he enjoys good fortune, someone else suffers as a result. Shia LaBeouf guest stars

  • Season 7 Episode 5: Rush

    A teenager stands accused when a sheriff's deputy is beaten to death with inhuman force. Scully suspects the clearly innocent boy's friends are responsible, while Mulder suspects the presence of evil spirits. When the murder weapon is stolen from the police station, surveillance footage seems to suggest they are dealing with a killer who can move at superhuman speed

  • Season 7 Episode 4: Millennium

    A case of grave robbing proves to have a connection with secret society the Millennium Group. Mulder and Scully seek the aid of Frank Black, a former criminal profiler with connections to the group, who claims they intend to bring about the end of the world in the year 2000. As the New Year approaches, zombies begin rising from the grave. Lance Henriksen guest stars in a crossover with Millennium

  • Season 7 Episode 3: Hungry

    A fast food employee is secretly a mutant creature with an insatiable need to feed on human brains. When the body of one of his victims is discovered and traced to his workplace, he is forced to hide from a police investigation aided by Mulder and Scully, and desperately seeks help in controlling his compulsion. Chad Donella co-stars in an episode told from the monster's point of view

  • Season 7 Episode 2: The Sixth Extinction II - Amor Fati

    Part two of three. Mulder remains in a coma caused by the alien virus, but the Cigarette-Smoking Man manipulates his thoughts, hoping to persuade him to drop his investigations and adopt a normal life in a witness protection programme. It seems the agent's only hope is Navajo elder Albert Hosteen, who tells Scully she must save him for the sake of mankind. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson star

  • Season 7 Episode 1: The Sixth Extinction

    Part two of three. In Africa, Scully tries to decipher the secrets of the crashed UFO, discovering it may hold the key to the development of life on Earth and human civilisation. Dr Barnes arrives offering his assistance, but she is suspicious of his motives. Back in Washington, the hospitalised Mulder is developing mind-reading abilities, but the increased brain activity is killing him

The X Files: Season 6 (1998 - 1999)

  • Season 6 Episode 22: Biogenesis

    Part one of three. An artefact is discovered in Africa covered in strange lettering that appears to offer proof that life on Earth was first created by aliens. However, Krycek is determined to keep this a secret and has the scientists connected with the find murdered one by one. A rubbing of the symbols seems to exert a strange influence on Mulder's mental state

  • Season 6 Episode 21: Field Trip

    Two skeletons are discovered in a UFO hot spot, which Mulder believes are the result of an alien abduction while Scully suspects a ritual killing. The case takes a strange turn when the couple the skeletons belong to turn up alive and well, while Mulder disappears, only to return with proof of the existence of aliens. However, all is not as it seems

  • Season 6 Episode 20: Three of a Kind

    The Lone Gunmen try to gain access to a conference for weapons contractors, only to spot Susanne Modeski, a militant they had encountered years before. They enlist Scully's aid in trying to find out why she is here, fearing she has become part of the organisation she was once working against, and uncover a plot involving mind control drugs.   • Season 6 Episode 19: The Unnatural

    A former FBI agent tells Mulder the story of how he was assigned to protect a black baseball player from the Ku Klux Klan, only to find he was an alien. The player had grown to love the sport and life on Earth, but living among humans is strictly forbidden and his own race were plotting to kill him. M Emmet Walsh guest stars in an episode written and directed by David Duchovny

  • Season 6 Episode 18: Milagro

    An aspiring author becomes infatuated with Scully. When he overhears her discussing a case with Mulder, he is inspired to write a story involving Scully, himself and a series of brutal murders where the victims had their hearts torn out. When the killings are committed in reality exactly as he described them, he ends up a suspect but claims to have only used his imagination

  • Season 6 Episode 17: Trevor

    A convict held in solitary confinement on a prison farm is swept up in a tornado and assumed to have been killed. However, when the captain of the prison guards is brutally murdered, it seems to be a revenge killing carried out by the missing prisoner, who has gained the power to move his body through solid objects. Mulder and Scully pursue the fugitive, who is looking for his hidden loot

  • Season 6 Episode 16: Alpha

    Two crew members on a cargo ship from Hong Kong are found dead, their bodies locked inside a shipping crate that contained a rare breed of Chinese dog thought to have been extinct for 150 years. As Mulder and Scully search for the missing animal and more bodies are discovered, it seems the dog has developed human intelligence as well as a taste for human prey

  • Season 6 Episode 15: Arcadia

    Mulder and Scully pose as a married couple to investigate a seemingly perfect gated community where several people have disappeared without trace. They find the residents insist on an incredibly rigid set of rules that mean every household must be identical. When Mulder tries to bring a little individuality to their home, he discovers conformity is being enforced by a strange monster

  • Season 6 Episode 14: Monday

    Mulder and Scully are caught in a time loop, where they live the same day over and over again. Each time they get caught up in a bank robbery and no matter what they do differently, the day always ends in their deaths. The only person who is aware of what is happening is the bank robber's accomplice, who tries in vain to warn an oblivious Mulder and Scully of their predicament

  • Season 6 Episode 13: Agua Mala

    Mulder and Scully travel to a town devastated by a hurricane in search of a sea monster. Just as they are about to give up, bad weather forces them to take shelter in a building along with several townsfolk. They discover the janitor is the twin brother of a dead scientist whose brain was cryonically frozen, leading Mulder to suspect he is being influenced to complete his sibling's work and kill anyone who gets in the way

  • Season 1 Episode 22: Born Again

    A police officer is thrown to his death from a window, and the only witness to the crime is an eight-year-old girl. A series of strange clues links the girl to the murder of another detective nine years earlier. Mulder becomes convinced the child is the reincarnation of the victim, and has developed telekinetic powers that she is using to avenge her own death

  • Season 1 Episode 21: Tooms

    Murderous mutant Eugene Victor Tooms, whom Mulder and Scully prevented from completing a killing spree, is released from prison due to a lack of evidence.     Mulder and Scully investigate the disappearance of a group of loggers in a forest, and find one of the missing men encased in a giant cocoon. They discover the felling of an ancient tree has unleashed a voracious swarm of prehistoric insects. The bugs can only attack in pitch darkness, but as the agents take cover in a cabin, they find they have little fuel to keep the lights running

  • Season 1 Episode 19: Shapes

    A rancher shoots at what he thinks is a wild animal, only to find he has killed a man from a nearby Native American Reservation. Mulder and Scully investigate the case which is similar to the very first X-File, involving a man seemingly able to turn into a beast. Mulder is convinced the victim was a werewolf, and may have passed the condition on to others

  • Season 1 Episode 18: Miracle Man

    Mulder and Scully investigate the deaths of people supposedly cured of their illnesses by a young faith healer. The local sheriff is convinced the healer is somehow responsible, while the boy himself fears his abilities have been corrupted to kill rather than save. A series of strange events seems to suggest the healer's powers are real, but a more natural explanation for the deaths presents itself

  • Season 1 Episode 17: EBE

    While investigating a truck driver's apparent UFO encounter, Mulder becomes convinced he was transporting wreckage from a UFO across the country. Deep Throat provides Mudler and Scully with fake evidence, leading them to wonder if he can be trusted and what his agenda is. When the agents track down the missing truck, they find evidence that what they are actually hunting is a live captive alien

    Mulder receives a tip-off that a supposed chemical spill is a cover-up for a crashed UFO, but is arrested trying to get evidence. When several soldiers are found with severe radiation burns, he realises the pilot of the spacecraft has survived and is on the loose.
