    As the judges' houses stage concludes, 24 acts pack their bags and prepare to head home, while the dozen who have made it to the live shows cope with the pressure as the real work begins. Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Mel B and Cheryl don't suffer fools gladly, so the lucky few who have made it to this stage will have to pull out all the stops as they sing for their careers and a chance to make that all-important finale in December. This time last year, the likes of Kingsland Road, Rough Copy and eventual winner Sam Bailey were about to embark on a 10-week trial by TV as they aimed to win over the public, so it'll be intriguing to see how the latest 12 cope with life in the spotlight
