Docu-drama exploring Captain Scott's doomed 1912 Antarctic expedition, in which he and two colleagues conducted scientific experiments in harsh conditions for two years. One such task saw them risking their lives for a penguin egg. The adventure left sole survivor Apsley Cherry-Garrard (Mark Gatiss) haunted by his memories, and on his return to England found a place he no longer recognised.
