    In the penultimate challenge, the drivers travel to India, where they haul potatoes through the bustling city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, before navigating rugged monsoon-beaten tracks in a bid to reach the remote village of Lauri 250 miles away. In the country's popular Tata 1616 vehicles, the truckers race to their destination, aware that three of them will be eliminated from the competition - but mechanical problems jeopardise some of their chances of reaching the final

    The truckers arrive in the East Asian country of Mongolia, where they are challenged to transport goods along treacherous and poorly demarcated roads, and must rely on communication and teamwork to avoid taking a wrong turn. Driving the hardy Russian Zil 131 vehicles, they haul loads of tents and furniture for 80 miles, but receive penalties for every item they break along the way

  • Season 1 Episode 5: EPISODE: 5

    The challenge moves to North America, where the drivers are split into new pairs before tackling the treacherous mountain roads in the Elaho Valley, north of Vancouver, Canada. They navigate logging trails to 3,000ft above sea level to collect 60-ton loads of timber, which they deliver to base camp, taking different routes over three days until they ascend the 'widow-maker' pass

    The six remaining drivers undertake their next challenge deep in the Amazon rainforest, where they have to deliver riverboats to the fishing community of Alter do Chao in Brazil. The three teams adopt different strategies as they try to cover the 250 miles of treacherous road in the quickest time, but also have to drop off supplies at another village en route

  • Season 1 Episode 3: EPISODE: 3

    The challenge moves to the South American continent, where the truckers are paired into new teams and given the job of navigating one of the most treacherous roads in Brazil. With a load of concrete pipes weighing half a ton each, they journey from Alta Floresta in the state of Mato Grosso to Novo Progresso in Para, a 360-mile trip along the unfinished BR163 road - but the unstable cargo proves too difficult for some of the drivers to handle

    The drivers are challenged to deliver a medical centre to the remote Aborigine community of Kiwirrkurra in the Gibson Desert, Western Australia. Hauling 25-ton prefabricated sections, they are judged on their ability to prevent the building from becoming damaged on the hazardous journey, and tempers fray as the truckers tackle unpaved flooded creeks and overhanging power lines and foliage

    Eight of the world's most experienced drivers navigate treacherous roads across four continents, competing for the title of World's Toughest Trucker and a £100,000 prize. Each journey lasts three days, and they must haul an unusual load of cargo - with one of the competitors eliminated from the show every week. In the first edition, they transport cattle across Cape York Peninsula in Australia, a region inundated by tropical rain for six months of the year, making the roads almost impassable
