  The team heads for Essex to help a family living close to London's busy North Circular road, who are hoping to keep stag beetles in their small garden. In order to provide these creatures with the perfect habitat, Chris Beardshaw create a primeval-style bog garden, but when his attention is drawn away from his rugged masterpiece, Nick Knowles takes it upon himself to install a huge shed.   Nick Knowles, Chris Beardshaw and Ellie Harrison help the Gibbons family in Milton Keynes attract wildlife back into their garden, which has suffered almost irreparable damage at the hands of father Pete. The experts make the soil fertile enough for planting, before a plan is put into action to help declining bee populations

• Season 1 Episode 4: Night Garden

  Nick Knowles, Chris Beardshaw and Ellie Harrison head to a Birmingham plot with a prickly problem, where Ellie sees an opportunity to help a British garden favourite - the hedgehog. Chris then gets to work on the ambitious task of building a gothic ruin, the centre piece of his night garden

  Nick Knowles and the team face their toughest challenge to date - trying to attract rare red squirrels to the McLoughlin family's barren garden in Dundee. Wildlife expert Ellie Harrison takes mother Donna and daughter Millana to the Cairngorms National Park, one of the creatures' last strongholds, in a bid to glimpse them in the wild

• Season 1 Episode 2: Three Badgers and a Baby

  The team visits Bristol to help a couple who want their child to grow up around wildlife, and has four days to transform the plot, which has not been touched for more than 20 years. Wildlife expert Ellie Harrison hopes to entice badgers into the garden, but designer Chris Beardshaw is strongly against the idea, leaving Nick Knowles to referee between the two camps before a compromise can be reached

• Season 1 Episode 1: Tales from the Riverbank

  Nick Knowles is joined by garden designer Chris Beardshaw and wildlife expert Ellie Harrison to transform urban back gardens into wildlife havens. In the first programme, the team remove the concrete and crazy paving from a garden in Crayford, Kent, replacing it with hundreds of plants and 14 trees to attract butterflies and birds
