Whatever Love Means

Drama chronicling the passionate relationship between Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles prior to his marriage to Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1981. The film recreates the couple's first meeting at a polo match in 1971 and reveals how the confident 23-year-old Camilla Shand made a lasting impression on the prince. Although their friendship was fuelled by a shared sense of humour, Camilla's on-off affair with Andrew Parker Bowles meant there could be no future for them as man and wife. Camilla even suggested potential suitors as the pressure grew for the heir to the throne to find a suitable partner. The future king is humanised through his intense anguish and longing for happiness as he struggles to come to terms with his conflicting emotions, knowing he will always love Camilla, but that duty and country must come first.
