The War at Home: Season 2 (2006 - 2007)

• Season 2 Episode 22: The Graduate

  Dave and Vicky plan an end-of term party for Hillary, but soon discover her poor performance in gym class could stop her from graduating. Larry and Kenny plot their revenge on the older students who tormented them at school, and ask Mike to help them. Last in series

• Season 2 Episode 21: A Bitter Pill to Swallow

  Dave and Vicky attempt to put Larry on medication after he reveals he suffers from Social Anxiety Disorder, but he refuses and falls out with them in the process. Meanwhile, Vicky gives Hillary some sex education after Dave gets the idea she may be planning to lose her virginity

  After reviewing their wills, Dave and Vicky ask Jeff and Mindy to become their children's legal guardians should the worst happen, but their answer is not quite the one they expected. Meanwhile, Larry finds a draft of a post-nuptial agreement and assumes his parents are divorcing - so hatches a plan to force them back together

  A music executive offers the Larry the chance to record a music demo, and Dave offers to help out with the lyrics after revealing his high-school musical talents. Meanwhile, Mike decides to start working out after being repeatedly mistaken for one of the Olsen twins

  Dave's employers at the insurance company cuts down on commissions and free breakfasts, so he joins forces with two co-workers to start a new business. Hillary is disappointed not to receive any acceptance letters from colleges, and decides to enlist in the army instead

  Kenny and his date are banned from a dance for failing to support its heterosexual traditions, prompting an outraged Larry to protest against the discrimination. Dave visits the school to argue the case with Principal Fink

  Vicky's mum and her boyfriend announce their engagement, but Dave is shocked when the prospective groom goes too far with a stripper. Meanwhile, Hillary worries she may have a knack of turning men gay when Kenny dates one of her former lovers. George Segal guest stars

• Season 2 Episode 15: Zero Tolerance

  Larry is suspended for 30 days from school when he wears his dad's jacket by mistake and Principal Fink discovers drugs in one of the pockets. This leads to Dave and Vicky taking their son to church to see if they will take him off their hands for a month

• Season 2 Episode 14: A Lower-Middle-Upper-Middle-Class Problem

  Tired of the kids always asking for money, Dave puts them on a strict budget, and Vicky supports him - until she's unable to buy an expensive pair of boots. To make up the shortfall, Larry asks Mike for a loan and Hillary earns extra cash by setting up an escort service for some of the boys at school

  Vicky selects Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth for a family movie night. Finding the film profound, Dave takes things too far by forcing everyone to adopt an eco-friendly existence. Meanwhile, Hillary is put under pressure as she prepares for her college admissions interview

  Dave refuses to attend a wine appreciation course with Vicky, and later ridicules her for going alone. Meanwhile, Dave becomes suspicious of Larry's relationship with his new, older lady friend

  Kenny's dad pulls up the rose bushes dividing his home from Dave and Vicky's, believing the property to be his. His actions soon lead to all-out war between the two families, leaving Larry and Kenny stuck in the middle. Meanwhile, Hillary jokingly asks her father to choose her next boyfriend

  Dave worries he may be attracted to girls his daughter's age. A censored version of GoodFellas inspires Larry to stop swearing, while Hillary takes unusual measures to ensure Mike does not take drugs

  Hillary is furious when she is accused of cheating after receiving surprisingly high scores in her school tests, while Larry agrees to take a girl on a date as a favour to his dad. Dave and Vicky meet a couple who are a bit too friendly. Michael Rapaport stars

  Hillary tricks her parents into believing she's dating a classmate, when in actual fact she's going out with an older man. Meanwhile, Larry becomes addicted to Vicky's nicotine gum

  Hillary is delighted to receive the car she has always wanted, but in return Dave and Vicky convince her to sign a contract that allows them to completely control her life. Problems arise when Larry dates Mike's old flame

  Kenny's dad pulls out of taking the boys to a comic-book convention, so Dave reluctantly agrees to do the honours instead - only to discover that the event clashes with an important football game. Comedy, starring Michael Rapaport

• Season 1 Episode 22: Drive Me Crazy

  Dave lands himself in trouble with the law by taking the blame for Hillary's reckless driving - and to make matters worse, she shows no gratitude for his selfless act. Meanwhile, Vicky forgets to register Larry for Shakespeare camp. Last in series

• Season 1 Episode 21: Runaways

  Larry runs away from home, prompting Vicky to question her parenting skills. To make matters worse, Dave makes a disastrous attempt to support Hillary over a fight with a friend, and wonders whether he too could be a bit more considerate in future

• Season 1 Episode 20: Snow Job

  Hillary sprains her ankle while skiing and ends up in the hospital, where her parents discover she's been lying to them both. Larry anxiously awaits a phone call from a girl - and Mike takes advantage of the situation to get a date with an older woman. Michael Rapaport stars

• Season 1 Episode 19: The West Palm Beach Story

  Dave arranges a family trip to Florida to see his mother and father - unaware Mike hates flying, Vicky can't stand his parents, and Hillary has her own reasons for wanting to stay at home. Michael Rapaport stars

  Dave is unsure of Mike's motives for wanting a bar mitzvah, suspecting he is only after the party and gifts. However, he and Vicky eventually decide to reward the youngster's dedicated research into Hebrew and genuine interest in Judaism with a coming-of-age ceremony

• Season 1 Episode 17: The Seventeen-Year Itch

  An attractive saleswoman flirts with Dave at work, convincing him he is still attractive to younger women. However, he soon discovers she was checking him out on behalf of her mother. Vicky visits Mike's class for Career Day. Michael Rapaport and Anita Barone star

  Dave encounters an old school friend and ladies' man who turns out to be both Vicky and Hillary's gynaecologist, and can't shake the awkward feeling it gives him. Meanwhile, Mike offends Larry by pretending he barely knows him. Michael Rapaport stars

• Season 1 Episode 15: Looney Tunes

  Mike appears to be in low spirits so Dave and Vicky try to cheer him up, but it transpires he's been taking them for a ride to gain attention. Larry begins to feel left out and becomes upset, while Hillary addresses a delicate topic in class

• Season 1 Episode 14: How Do You Spell Relief?

  Double bill. Dave finds a pregnancy test in the bin and wrongly assumes Hillary is pregnant. However, he soon learns that it belongs to Vicky, who has stopped taking the Pill, since she lost her job and slipped into depression. Mike concocts a scheme to improve his grades, and Larry enters a spelling competition

• Season 1 Episode 13: Three's Company

  One of Vicky's college friends comes to visit - much to the dismay of Dave, who remembers he had a fling with her, and prays she will keep their liaison to herself. Comedy, starring Michael Rapaport

• Season 1 Episode 12: Gimme a Break

  Part two of two. Hillary is caught shoplifting, but the excuse Dave uses to get her off the hook lands him in even more trouble. Mike is suspended from school for harassing a female student, while Vicky's boss decides to quit - and leaves her arch-enemy in charge

• Season 1 Episode 11: It's a Living

  Double bill. Vicky decides she should do more with her life and applies for a job in the city. At first, Dave is unimpressed with the idea, but changes his mind once he finds out how much she would earn. Meanwhile, Mike is suspended from school for harassing a female student, Hillary is caught shoplifting and Vicky has a terrible day at work

• Season 1 Episode 10: Breaking Up Is Hard to Do

  Dave is worried Grandma Betty is spending too much money on her new boyfriend, and tries to split the pair up. He then helps Vicky devise a plan to end Hillary and Keith's relationship by demonstrating how hard it is to raise a child

• Season 1 Episode 9: Dave Get Your Gun

  Dave becomes disturbed by Larry's lack of interest in traditional masculine pursuits, and begins to suspect his son is gay. Meanwhile, Hillary hits another girl and is unceremoniously dumped by Taye. Michael Rapaport stars

  Double bill. Dave grows tired of being ignored by the kids and decides to enforce rigorous discipline, threatening to smack anyone who steps out of line.   Hillary arrives home drunk, prompting Dave and Vicky to ban alcohol from the house. However, they are soon caught breaking their own rules. Meanwhile, Mike accidentally kills a pigeon and feels so guilty he vows to become a vegetarian

  Hillary decides she wants plastic surgery, but Dave disapproves and has to convince her appearances aren't everything. Unfortunately, his argument falls apart once he meets Larry's overweight and unattractive new girlfriend. Comedy, starring Michael Rapaport
