Part one. DS Boyd investigates whether a woman who confessed to the killing of her husband 25 years ago could be innocent : but has a tough time convincing the public, who regard the mere mention of her name with horror. Grace also has doubts about the validity of the evidence, but the truth emerges as the woman's son, now living under a new identity, has to relive the trauma of the night of the murder.
