  Ludicrus loses his seat on the Senate, and decides to sell up and move his family to Rome. Lurcio is up for auction but worries his future master might be a real slave-driver. Frankie Howerd stars

  Lurcio becomes embroiled in attempts to prevent Pompeii going to war with the Barbarians. One of the anti-war activities involves trying to persuade the women to deny conjugal rights if their husbands enter into battle. Classic bawdy comedy, starring Frankie Howerd.   When plans for a new catapult are stolen, Lurcio becomes involved in attempts to recover them, meeting secret agent James Bondus in the process. George Baker guest stars

  Lurcio agrees to hide two escaped slaves when he is left on his own to look after the house. However, various family members return home from their holiday unexpectedly. Classic bawdy comedy, starring Frankie Howerd

  Ludicrus looks set for a windfall until he discovers a 10,000 drachma inheritance will only be paid if he has a son named after his recently departed uncle

Up Pompeii: Season 1 (1970)

• Season 1 Episode 7: The Love Potion

  Lurcio is given the night off while everyone goes out. Ammonia, Ludicrus and Erotica offer him money to make himself scarce for the evening, but he has other ideas. He uses the cash to buy a love potion and proceeds to entertain new neighbour Lusha - but doesn't bargain on the family members returning back home. Part of the Visions of Rome Season

  Spartacus starts a revolt among the slaves of Rome, and despite Lurcio's best efforts to avoid becoming involved in the chaos, he cannot prevent the knock-on effect it has. Classic comedy, starring Frankie Howerd

  When the Olympia Theatre Company arrives in town, Ammonia sends Lurcio to the theatre with a note for one of the actors - who happens to be one of her old flames.   Ammonia enlists Lurcio's help when an ex-boyfriend plans to visit. She asks him to get rid of him using a poisonous asp, so when a man arrives at the front door he neatly disposes of him - before realising his terrible mistake. Part of The Curse of Comedy Season

• Season 1 Episode 2: The Ides of March

  Ludicrus becomes embroiled in a plot to assassinate Julius Caesar. Lurcio tries to prevent the plan from going ahead, but is arrested and forced to impersonate the Roman leader in a bid to catch the schemers. Part of the Visions of Rome Season

• Season 1 Episode 1: Vestal Virgins

  Ludicrus is asked to play the part of compere at the Vestal Virgins ceremony, but a run-in with the local brothel keepers threatens to ruin the event
