When the story is picked up by a radio station, he receives a phone call from someone claiming to be his mother. Meanwhile, Bosco and Monroe search for a small-time mobster after the son of a businessman dies in a suspicious fire

  Doc is demoted back to the streets and continues his downward spiral, while Carlos is devastated when Kylie is diagnosed with aplastic anaemia. Maritza finally captures Lettie's killer after a gunfight and decides to spare his life so he can be sent to prison

• Season 5 Episode 7: Payback

  Doc reacts badly at the scene of an accident involving his old rig and a city bus, while Cruz is forced to reveal her rape to keep Thomas Warner from being released. Faith is plagued by flashbacks of the shooting, prompting her to ask Fred if they can get out of the city for a family holiday, and Barbara meets Sully for a drink

  When Judge Barbara Halsted's life is threatened by a bomb the team arrange to provide her with protection until she presides over the murder trial of a drug dealer. Meanwhile, Cruz tries to find the man who raped her while she was working undercover. Ann-Margret guest stars

  A judge placed under protection gives Sully and Ty a scare when she slips away to get a cup of coffee, and Levine uses an unorthodox method to take a patient's mind off his pain

  In the immediate aftermath of a shoot-out, Yokas is left with a bullet lodged near her spine. • Season 4 Episode 22: The Price of Nobility

  Maritza's reckless pursuit of Buford leads to a horrific car accident, triggering an explosion that severely injures Lt Johnson and kills Alex Taylor. Bosco and Nunez are reprimanded over the murder committed by Noble, while Doc's overwhelming guilt and grief bring about a career decision. Last in series, with Michael Beach, Amy Carlson and Tia Texada

• Season 4 Episode 21: Closing In

  Bosco becomes upset by the efforts of his partner Cruz to cover up Noble's involvement in the shooting of a drug dealer. American drama, starring Jason Wiles and Tia Texada

• Season 4 Episode 20: In Confidence

  When Noble (Tom Berenger) is arrested for buying drugs, he cuts a deal by setting up a buy with a notorious dealer.

• Season 4 Episode 19: Everybody Lies

  Faith and Bosco face disciplinary action after losing a bag of money stolen from an armoured car, but find there's more to the case then meets the eye. Kim and Doc rush a woman who has attempted suicide to the hospital, and learn a terrible secret about her stepfather, while Carlos is overjoyed when Ty tells him he is to be reinstated. Tom Berenger guest stars

• Season 4 Episode 18: Last Call

  Ty and Bosco resort to desperate measures to save Sully's life, kidnapping their colleague and taking him to a remote cabin to put a stop to his alcoholism. Once there, however, the errant cop begins having wild delusions about the deaths of Tatiana, Chevchenko and Ty's father

• Season 4 Episode 17: Letting Go

  Faith refuses to accept Bosco's apology for lying to her, the fire squad are called in to rescue a driver who has been impaled in a crash, and Carlos gets back out on the street feeling totally re-energised

• Season 4 Episode 16: 10-13

  As Sully's drinking escalates, Ty is forced to compensate for his colleague's inability to do his job. Faith is furious to hear of Maritza and Bosco's relationship, and Doc has an unpleasant encounter

• Season 4 Episode 15: Collateral Damage : Part Two

  Part two of two. Emily is released from hospital to the delight of Faith, but Cruz's family are devastated when Lettie dies in a fire before the rescue crews can reach her. Kim stands up for Carlos when she testifies before the review board

• Season 4 Episode 14: Collateral Damage : Part One

  Part one of two. As Faith waits for Emily to wake up from her coma, she blames everyone but her daughter for the overdose and reflects on the substance abuse problems in her family. Cruz's sister is also brought into the hospital with an overdose, leading her to ask Sully, Ty and Bosco to look the other way on any possession charges, before setting off to discover the whereabouts of the supplier

• Season 4 Episode 13: Snow Blind

  The squads are called in early when a blizzard blankets the city, but an understaffed Doc defies orders and puts Carlos back on the street while the others are kept busy rescuing victims of the storm. Meanwhile, Sully finally quits drinking, but his poor attitude remains unchanged

• Season 4 Episode 12: Castles of Sand

  Ty bails out Carlos, but fails to help him smooth things over with Nicole. Bosco and Faith break up a domestic disturbance, Alex gets irritated when the other firefighters make fun of her brother, and Jimmy is appalled when his face appears on an embarrassing poster

• Season 4 Episode 11: Second Chances

  Carlos is arrested on suspicion of molesting a teenage patient, while Bosco and Faith search for an escaped prisoner. Sully and Davis team up with the fire department and EMS to save construction workers injured by collapsing scaffolding, and Doc supervises a new paramedic on her first day

• Season 4 Episode 10: Crime and Punishment - Part Two

  Part two of two. Bosco is dismayed as he watches Cruz go to extreme lengths to arrest a drug dealer who tried to kill a 12-year-old boy, while Nancy tells Ty she's ending her relationship with Hancock. Sean Young guest stars

  Emily learns how much her mother loves her when they are taken hostage during a bank robbery, as Faith risks her life to save her daughter

• Season 4 Episode 7: Firestarter

  A fire breaks out in the supermarket where Bosco is shopping, and although he rescues most of the shoppers, he cannot save a mother who goes back inside to retrieve her purse. Later developments suggest the blaze was started deliberately, and he grows convinced the arsonist was in the crowd outside

  Part two of two. Tatiana struggles to deal with her son's death at the hands of Chevchenko, and Davis comes to a decision about the job offer. With guest star Roy Scheider

  Doherty is first to arrive at a multiple car pile-up while out riding his motorcycle, and Taylor is knocked down by another vehicle, while Tatiana goes to see Chevchenko - with tragic consequences

• Season 4 Episode 3: To Protect

  Yokas and Bosco try to find a missing boy whose parents fear he has been taken by a registered sex offender, while Sully prepares to be questioned about his wife's background. American drama, starring Molly Price

• Season 4 Episode 2: The Chosen Few

  Bosco gets a temporary assignment working with a tough female sergeant. Fred seems strangely unruffled at the prospect of undergoing a triple bypass operation, and Doc hears shocking news from Philadelphia. Third Watch: Season 3 (2001 - 2002)

• Season 3 Episode 22: Blackout

  During a citywide blackout, Bosco relies on a drug-bust suspect to help with an injured man, while Yokas gets stuck in an elevator with her husband, and a wealthy man offers money to paramedics Doc and Carlos if they will treat him and ignore others.

• Season 3 Episode 21: Two Hundred and Thirty-Three Days

  Eight months after the September 11 attacks, Taylor learns one of the bodies recovered from Ground Zero is that of her father. Faith and Bosco keep tabs on a convicted rapist recently released from prison on appeal, certain he will attack again, and Chevchenko has an angry confrontation with Sully.
