Stephen Fry in America: Season 1

• Season 1 Episode 6: Pacific

  The writer and actor concludes his journey by exploring the states that touch the Pacific Ocean. He begins in San Francisco's Chinatown and crosses the Golden Gate Bridge, before travelling through the giant redwood forests of northern California and Oregon. Leaving his cab in Seattle, Washington, he flies to Kodak Island in Alaska and after that heads to the islands of Hawaii. Last in the series

• Season 1 Episode 5: Nevada

  The actor explores America's south-west, beginning with New Mexico where he meets physicists unravelling the secrets of dark matter and eco-house dwellers living 'off grid' near Santa Fe. In Arizona he stays with the Navajo in Monument Valley, travels across Lake Powell aboard a houseboat and takes a trip on a World War Two bomber. In Nevada he meets Mormon missionaries, before heading over the Sierra Nevada mountains to the Pacific Ocean

• Season 1 Episode 4: Mountains and Plains

  The writer and actor travels the entire length of the country, from the Canadian to the Mexican borders. A group of airborne patrol agents shows him the stunning mountains of Montana, before he heads south to meet a Wyoming ranching couple who share details of their close encounters with deadly animals. Other highlights of his trip down the length of the country include a belly-dancing display in Oklahoma and a musical performance in El Paso

• Season 1 Episode 3: Mississippi

  The writer and actor spends Mardi Gras in New Orleans, where a voodoo priestess tries to heal his recently broken arm and an Iraqi veteran gives a tour of the devastation caused in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina. He stops to chat with actor Morgan Freeman about the Delta Blues in Mississippi, before following the Mississippi through Iowa and Chicago, resting in Wisconsin to master the knack of milking sheep

• Season 1 Episode 2: The Deep South

  The writer and actor continues his journey across America in a taxi to explore each of the 50 states. He makes an uncomfortable trip underground to learn about West Virginia's coal-mining industry, flies over North Carolina in a hot air balloon and spends Thanksgiving in Georgia, before resting in Alabama to enjoy a college ball game complete with air force jets

  New six-part series in which the writer and actor explores the country he might have called home had his father accepted a job offer at Princeton University just before his birth. He hires a taxi and sets out to visit all 50 of America's states, beginning with those that make up New England, including Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts, before reaching the nation's capital Washington DC
