Stargate Atlantis: Season 5 (2008 - 2009)

• Season 5 Episode 20: Enemy at the Gate

  The 100th and final episode of the sci-fi series. Todd informs Atlantis that a group of Wraith has several ZPMs in its possession to use to power a new superhive. When the crew reaches the hive, it does significant damage to the Daedalus and jumps into hyperspace and the team discovers that the ship is heading to Earth

• Season 5 Episode 19: Vegas

  In an episode set in an alternate reality, Sheppard is a homicide detective who joins forces with FBI agent Woolsey in pursuit of a serial killer terrorising Las Vegas. As each victim is discovered apparently drained of their life force, the investigators begin to realise the case is far more sinister than either of them had imagined

• Season 5 Episode 18: Identity

  Dr Keller is taken over by an alien consciousness named Neeva, who turns out to be a thief and reveals that Ancient technology was used to make the switch. When pressed, the intruder refuses to co-operate with the team until they provide her with a means of escape, leaving Keller to struggle with life as a fugitive

• Season 5 Episode 17: Infection

  Sheppard and the crew encounter a seemingly abandoned Wraith vessel and decide to investigate. They board the ship accompanied by Major Lorne and his men, but quickly discover all is not as it seems, and the mission begins to reveal far more about their foes than any of them could have expected. Meanwhile, Keller is challenged to expand her knowledge of Wraith physiology

• Season 5 Episode 16: Brain Storm

  Malcolm Tunney unveils a device that promises to extinguish the threat of global warming and his demonstration causes a storm

• Season 5 Episode 15: Remnants

  Sheppard is kidnapped and imprisoned by an old enemy he believed dead, and the Atlantis crew discovers the an ancient alien race. Joe Flanigan stars

• Season 5 Episode 14: The Prodigal

  Michael infiltrates Atlantis joined by a number of genetically modified henchmen. Using a puddle jumper to render the control room staff unconscious, he quickly takes over the ship. With Teyla held captive behind a web of intricate defences, the others in the team must pit their wits against their foe in an attempt to stop him gaining total power over the ship - including the self-destruct mechanism

• Season 5 Episode 13: Inquisition

  Woolsey's legal expertise is put to the test when he must defend Sheppard and the team against a coalition of human worlds, who believe they have committed crimes against the people of the galaxy and demand they stand trial

• Season 5 Episode 12: Outsiders

  The Wraith discover a small group of survivors hidden among the population of a village on another planet, and Sheppard and his team must convince the villagers to go into hiding

• Season 5 Episode 11: The Lost Tribe

  Sheppard is faced with the mission of rescuing McKay and Daniel Jackson from an ancient laboratory before Todd reaches the destination first. However, it will take the co-operation of some old allies to save the pair, who could be killed by the destruction of a device they were forced to reactivate

• Season 5 Episode 10: First Contact

  When Dr McKay and Jackson discover a secret laboratory, the Atlantis crew encounters a mysterious alien race, and is left wondering whether the visitors' intentions are peaceful

• Season 5 Episode 9: Tracker

  The team comes to the aid of a village under Wraith attack but Dr Keller is kidnapped in the process. Ronan must rely on his skills as a former Runner to save his comrade

• Season 5 Episode 8: The Queen

  Dr Keller thinks she can cure the Wraith of their need to feast on humans, so Teyla embarks on a dangerous undercover mission and tries to strike up an alliance with another hive

• Season 5 Episode 7: Whispers

  News arrives that Major Anna Teldy and her team have made a discovery, forcing Dr Beckett to delay his departure from Atlantis, while Sheppard and Teldy's team explores the nearby village, seemingly a ghost town

• Season 5 Episode 6: The Shrine

  While investigating the disappearance of a research team, McKay falls victim to a parasite that attaches to his brain and feeding off his memories, leaving him with days to live. With no known cure for the ailment, Ronon discovers a shrine on the planet Talus that promises to return his friend to normal for a single day before death claims him

• Season 5 Episode 5: The Ghost in the Machine

  After a mysterious power failure nearly cripples the Atlantis and the city suffers a similar problem, McKay receives a message claiming to be from a friend believed long dead. Now claiming to be an incorporeal presence, she begs him to use the ancients' technology to build her a new body - leaving the team with a moral dilemma

• Season 5 Episode 4: The Daedalus Variations

  A copy of the Daedalus appears in orbit over the Atlantis, and the crew board the vessel to investigate, where they are greeted by a chilling message from the ship's former captain. McKay's attempt to unravel the mystery is thwarted when the derelict is hurled into an alternate reality, where the team face an alien armada and the heat of an expanding sun - threatening any chance of returning home

• Season 5 Episode 3: Broken Ties

  Ronon is captured by former ally Tyre, who plans to give him to the Wraith in a bid to win favour. Meanwhile, Teyla faces a decision about her future within the team. Spin-off sci-fi series, starring Joe Flanigan

• Season 5 Episode 2: The Seed

  The team are desperate to find an antedote when Dr Jennifer Keller develops a mysterious alien virus, and decide to release Dr Carson from the stasis chamber

• Season 5 Episode 1: Search and Rescue

  Colonel Carter races to save the trapped crew members from the rubble of the facility, with Michael and the Wraith hybrids in pursuit. Meanwhile, Richard Woolsey is appointed commander of the expedition, and new recruit Captain Alice Vega joins as part of a reconnaissance team. Amanda Tapping guest stars

• Season 4 Episode 20: The Last Man

  Last in the series. Sheppard finds himself in an abandoned future version of Atlantis, but a hologram of McKay outlines a daring plan intended, not only to return him to his own time, but also to avert the disaster that has struck the city. Guest starring Robert Picardo

• Season 4 Episode 19: The Kindred - Part Two

  Part two of two. The team is stunned when Dr Carson Beckett returns, while Teyla has to fight for her life when she and the other Athosians are taken prisoner by Wraith Michael. The Atlantis crew decides to mount a rescue, but risks playing directly into the enemy's hands. Guest starring Paul McGillion

• Season 4 Episode 18: The Kindred - Part One

  Part one of two. Dr Keller discovers that a deadly protein, designed to destroy Wraiths, is also killing thousands of humans. When she realises someone is spreading it deliberately, she sets out to discover the culprit. Meanwhile, Telya convinces Sheppard to help search for her people after a vision convinces her that the father of her child is still alive. Guest starring Paul McGillion

• Season 4 Episode 17: Midway

  The Wraith find their way to the Midway Space Station, located in the empty space between the Milky Way and the Pegasus galaxies. Guest starring Christopher Judge

• Season 4 Episode 16: Trio

  Carter, McKay and Keller are sent to a help a village that is being rocked by tremors, but find themselves trapped underground in a disused mine. They race against time to find a way out as the ground becomes increasingly unstable

• Season 4 Episode 15: Outcast

  While attending his father's funeral, Sheppard is approached by Stanton Research operative Ava Granger, who seeks his help in tracking down an escaped human-form Replicator named Archetype. Together with Ronon Dex, Sheppard hunts down the cyborg before it can cause anyone harm. Guest starring Emma Lahana

• Season 4 Episode 14: Harmony

  On a routine visit to a friendly planet, Sheppard and McKay agree to guide a child princess through a dangerous forest to the Temple of Laros where she can assume her throne as queen. The rite of passage takes a turn for the worse when Genii merceneries attack, leaving the party bewildered as to who wants the young heiress dead. Guest starring Jodelle Ferland

• Season 4 Episode 13: Quarantine

  Relationships among the Atlantis crew are put under strain when the Ancient city goes into a lockdown. Sheppard must rely on the talents of Dr Zelenka to restore order to the expedition, and McKay finds himself locked in the botany lab with his girlfriend Katie Brown. Guest starring David Nykl and Brenda James

• Season 4 Episode 12: Spoils of War

  The crew members of the city-ship conducts a salvage operation, retrieving a partially damaged Hive ship from the site of the battle with the Replicators. While investigating their prize, they gain a valuable insight into the motives of the Wraith. Guest starring Andee Frizzell

• Season 4 Episode 11: Be All My Sins Remember'd

  Sheppard, Teyla and Ronon use a captured Wraith to make contact with the hive fleet. Following their new companion aboard a hive ship, they find their plea for aid met with hostility as they are taken prisoner by their former enemies. Guest starring Jill Wagner

• Season 4 Episode 10: This Mortal Coil

  Part one of two. The crew members of Atlantis must face their worst fears when a mysterious probe collides with the city-ship. With no indication of where the mechanism has come from, the team members suspect that the Replicators have finally tracked them down. Guest starring Torri Higginson

• Season 4 Episode 9: Miller's Crossing

  On Earth, McKay's sister, Jeannie Miller, is kidnapped by Delvin Medicinal Technologies president Henry Wallace. Convinced that only she and McKay are capable of using the nanotechnology necessary to save his daughter's life, Wallace lures McKay into a trap. Guest starring Kate Hewlett

• Season 4 Episode 8: The Seer

  The city is visited by a sickly man named Davos, who stuns the crew with his amazing prophetic abilities. When he claims that Wraith hive ships are closing in on Atlantis, McKay sees their approach as an opportunity to test the Replicators. Carter must decide whether Davos' visions are legitimate. • Season 4 Episode 7: Missing

  Visiting New Athos, Teyla and Dr Keller are surprised to find that the newly settled Athosians are missing, replaced by primal warriors. With the primitives on their tail, the pair must fight for their survival while searching for Teyla's missing people. Guest starring Jewel Staite

• Season 4 Episode 6: Tabula Rasa

  A deadly virus sweeps through Atlantis causing the entire expedition, apart from Teyla and Ronon, to lose their memories. Together they must rally the rest of the crew to find a cure before the memories that remain fade entirely. Starring Rachel Luttrell

• Season 4 Episode 5: Travelers

  Sheppard is captured by a race of ship-faring humans who have lived for generations in space to avoid the Wraith's systematic culls. Believing the Atlantis expedition to be a powerful enemy of the Wraith, they intend to use Sheppard's genes to reactivate a long-dormant Ancient warship. Guest starring Jill Wagner

• Season 4 Episode 4: Doppelganger

  Sheppard is assaulted by a psychopathic crystalline entity. When it returns to Atlantis in his stead, it becomes intent on destroying the entire expedition by invading the crew's dreams in the form of Sheppard, inciting each member's personal nightmares

• Season 4 Episode 3: Reunion

  Sheppard becomes suspicious when the team stumbles upon Ronon's old companions, thought to have been lost in the fall of Sateda. Ronon must decide whether to stay aboard Atlantis or rejoin his former allies, who harbour a dark secret

• Season 4 Episode 2: Lifeline

  Col. Sheppard plans a daring infiltration into the Replicators' city to steal a ZPM that will power Atlantis, and allow the crew to head for their new home. Samantha Carter joins the crew of the Apollo to help in the search for the missing base

• Season 4 Episode 1: Adrift

  After escaping an Asuran weapons satellite, the expedition becomes stranded in space with only 24 hours' worth of power left after the hyperdrive unexpectedly shuts down. Drifting alone in space, the city must fend off attacks from natural enemies

Stargate Atlantis: Season 3 (2006 - 2007)

• Season 3 Episode 20: First Strike

  Colonel Ellis and his team attack an armada belonging to the Replicators, put in place to threaten Earth. After the battle the crew are shocked to find a stargate orbiting the Atlantis, and McKay decides to use ancient methods in an attempt to remove the assailant. Last in series

• Season 3 Episode 19: Vengeance

  During the investigation into a village that had previously disappeared, Sheppard stumbles upon a Wraith experiment designed to create giant deadly insects. As the team explore a network of underground tunnels in search of the creatures' origins, Teyla is left behind and taken prisoner by the scientist who created them. Sci-fi drama, starring Joe Flanigan and Rachel Luttrell

• Season 3 Episode 18: Submersion

  While scouring the ocean floor for an ancient geothermal drilling station, the team accidentally awakens a Wraith queen who has lain dormant for thousands of years. The enemy activates a self-destruct mechanism on her ship, leaving the crew racing to prevent the catastrophic chain reaction that could result from an explosion under the station. Sci-fi drama, starring Torri Higginson and Joe Flanigan

• Season 3 Episode 17: Sunday

  The team's holiday is cut short when a blast rips through the city. In the absence of any residue, their only leads are strange eyewitness accounts claiming a scientist working for McKay suddenly exploded - leaving the doctor with a struggle to solve the mysterious incident before it can happen again. • Season 3 Episode 16: The Ark

  A race of people frozen for thousands of years are awoken when Sheppard and the team discover an antiquated space station. A scientist among them learns his wife and daughter have been murdered by the Wraith, putting the team and everyone else at risk. Sci-fi drama, starring Joe Flanigan and Torri Higginson

• Season 3 Episode 15: The Game

  Sheppard and McKay discover a simulation they have played for a year is actually real, and are forced to put aside their bickering or be responsible for a bloody war. The pair try to explain their mistake to the characters from the game, but their interference with once peaceful neighbours may have caused irreparable damage. • Season 3 Episode 14: Tao of Rodney

  Rodney McKay gains superhuman abilities after being zapped by a mysterious device of the Ancients. While the team initially envy the doctor's new-found powers, their concerns soon grow when it turns out the machine causes death for those who have crossed its path. Sci-fi drama, starring David Hewlett

• Season 3 Episode 13: Irresponsible

  When the team discover Lucius is trying to manipulate a village, they are drawn into a fight with Kolya and his men. Everyone except Sheppard is taken prisoner, leaving it up to him to save his friends before they are executed. Sci-fi drama, starring Joe Flanigan

• Season 3 Episode 12: Echoes

  Dr Beckett is left puzzled by the sudden disappearance of a medical team he finds tending the wounds of a severely injured man. McKay studies the sounds made by whales, and discovers that they communicate using a language which can be understood

• Season 3 Episode 11: The Return - Part Two

  Part two of two. The team attempt to regain control of Atlantis, but the mission fails when Jack O'Neill and Richard Woolsey are taken prisoner during an Asuran assault on the city. Sci-fi drama, starring Richard Dean Anderson

  Part one of two. The team are stunned to find Ancients have returned to reclaim their lost city, but an attack from Pegasus Replicators then puts it on the brink of collapse - forcing General Landry to consider taking drastic measures. • Season 3 Episode 2: Misbegotten

  The Atlantis team sets up a prisoner of war camp for former Wraiths, but danger develops when the colonists begin to regain their identities, despite Dr Beckett's experiments. With a back-up ship closing in, the team must act quickly or face disaster. Meanwhile, the IOA continue their investigation into Dr Weir. Sci-fi drama, starring Torri Higginson

• Season 3 Episode 1: No Man's Land

Stargate Atlantis: Season 2 (2005 - 2006)

• Season 2 Episode 20: Allies - Part One

  Part one of two. The team are contacted by Michael, the Wraith they tried to turn into a human. He claims his species is being divided by a civil war and offers them valuable information about advanced weapons, and help in fighting their mutual enemies. In return the rebel faction want Dr Beckett's retrovirus to turn their foes into humans that they can feed on

• Season 2 Episode 19: Inferno

  Sheppard and the team encounter a civilisation about to be destroyed by an erupting super-volcano. When the planet's Stargate is destroyed in the evacuation, the chances of escape seem slim - and it is up to McKay to save the day. Sci-fi drama, with Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett

• Season 2 Episode 18: Michael

  A young lieutenant awakes in Atlantis with no memory of his past or identity but suffering from horrific nightmares. Dr Beckett explains he was captured and experimented on by the Wraith but he begins to suspect the truth is far more terrible. Guest starring Connor Trinneer, best known as Commander Tucker on Enterprise

• Season 2 Episode 17: Coup d'Etat

  Sheppard and the team investigate the disappearance of an expedition from Atlantis, but soon become embroiled in a Genii coup. Seeing that they have grown into a new menace, he realises their armistice may soon come to an end. Guest starring Star Trek's Colm Meaney

• Season 2 Episode 16: The Long Goodbye

  The team discovers two life support pods in orbit around a small moon. They contain the minds of alien entities, who show themselves to be hostile by taking control of Weir and Sheppard's bodies. However, it transpires that their main motivation is to continue their own personal feud - and the two heroes must go along with their wishes. Starring Torri Higginson and Joe Flanigan

• Season 2 Episode 15: The Tower

  The team arrives on a planet where the inhabitants have created a device to repel Wraith attacks - but it can only be operated by someone with the Ancient gene. The royal adviser reveals that Sheppard is one such person, and the local ruler tries to convince his daughter to marry the newcomer, to strengthen the regal line

• Season 2 Episode 14: Grace Under Pressure

  McKay finds himself trapped underwater in a sinking Puddle Jumper, and hallucinates help in the form of Samantha Carter. Meanwhile, Weir approves a rescue attempt which sees Sheppard and Zelenka diving down with a thousand-foot cable and a magnetic grapple. Eventually, a whale which begins to circle the stricken craft offers some unlikely assistance. Joe Flanigan and Torri Higginson star

• Season 2 Episode 13: Critical Mass

  The team race against time to foil a Goa'uld plan to destroy Atlantis, but their mission is complicated by suspicions that a newcomer from Earth is actually a traitor working undercover to help the enemy

• Season 2 Episode 12: Epiphany

  Sheppard tries to figure out the workings of an Ancient device, but finds himself sucked into a mysterious portal where time is distorted and deadly enemies lurk at every corner. Dr McKay leads the rescue party in a desperate bid to save him

• Season 2 Episode 11: The Hive

  Part two of two. Sheppard is forced to face his own error of judgement after blindly leading the team straight into the trap set by Lieutenant Ford. The Wraith takes them hostage on a hive ship and with no obvious means of escape they are left to ponder their next move

• Season 2 Episode 10: The Lost Boys

  Part one of two. The crew members land on an unexplored planet where they are ambushed by a group of men, who take them to meet their leader - Lieutenant Ford. He implores Sheppard and the rest of the team to join his own army of super soldiers, and help him exact vengeance upon the Wraith

• Season 2 Episode 9: Aurora

  The crew stumbles upon a dilapidated ship and finds an ancient civilisation on board, frozen in suspended animation while exploring the vessel. It emerges that the members of the race are living in a virtual world - and their alternative reality is also inhabited by the evil Wraith

• Season 2 Episode 8: Conversion

  The team are mystified when Sheppard starts displaying enhanced physical strength and reflexes. Beckett runs tests on his DNA, which indicate he has been infected by his contact with Ellia - and is slowly transforming into a Wraith. Meanwhile, Weir asks Caldwell to take over the officer's duties. Joe Flanigan stars

• Season 2 Episode 7: Instinct

  Beckett creates a potion designed to convert Wraiths back to human form. The team are surprised to encounter a mysterious girl in the early stages of the experiment, and Sheppard's life is inadvertently put at risk

• Season 2 Episode 6: Trinity

  McKay discovers a potent source of energy based on ancient technology, which he believes can be harnessed and put to profitable use. However, as he investigates the possibility further, he inadvertently places the rest of the team at risk

• Season 2 Episode 5: Condemned

  The team stumbles upon a planet whose inhabitants have a far superior technological know-how, and remain virtually untouched by the Wraith. As they head back to Atlantis, however, their craft is fired upon by a gang of criminals - and they are forced to make an emergency landing on a prison island. Joe Flanigan stars

• Season 2 Episode 4: Duet

  McKay is rescued from a Wraith ship along with security officer Laura Cadman. However, an unforeseen technical malfunction causes their minds to become merged, and they are condemned to co-exist in the same body

• Season 2 Episode 3: Runner

  Teyla and Sheppard are taken captive by a former soldier, whose entire unit was wiped out by the Wraith. Caldwell warns that Ford should be treated as a threat to the base's security - and McKay soon has a close encounter with the infected lieutenant. Sci-fi drama, starring Joe Flanigan

• Season 2 Episode 2: The Intruder

  The battle cruiser Daedalus becomes infected with a virus that may allow the Wraith to take over the ship, and McKay fights to prevent this from happening. Meanwhile, a meeting at the SGC reveals the Pentagon's plans to replace Major Sheppard with Colonel Caldwell. David Hewlett stars

• Season 2 Episode 1: The Siege - Part Three

  Part three of three. Colonel Caldwell takes charge of Earth's latest hi-tech battle cruiser and saves Major Sheppard from his suicide run on the Wraith ships. McKay and the team race to protect Atlantis before their enemies arrive to conquer the city. Starring Joe Flanigan, Mitch Pileggi and David Hewlett

• Season 1 Episode 20: The Siege - Part Two

  Part two of three. The Wraith close in and the future of the city looks doomed, until help arrives in the form of the Stargate SG-1 vessel Daedalus, bringing a new military contingent from Earth. Joe Flanigan stars. Last in series

• Season 1 Episode 19: The Siege - Part One

  Part one of three. Wraith warships stage a deadly attempt to capture Atlantis, forcing the Stargate team to find a place to flee - and a way to destroy the city. As the countdown to destruction ticks away, McKay attempts to activate the Ancients' orbital weapons platform. Starring Joe Flanigan, Torri Higginson and David Hewlett

• Season 1 Episode 18: The Gift

  Teyla is haunted by recurring nightmares, which lead her to discover she is a descendant of one of several humans who were subjected to genetic experiments by the Wraith many centuries ago

• Season 1 Episode 17: Letters From Pegasus

  Sheppard and Teyla watch in awe as the Wraith pass overhead, but are powerless to stop a brutal attack. The members of the Atlantis crew are given a brief opportunity to send video messages to their loved ones back on Earth, but it remains to be seen whether the transmissions will arrive successfully.

• Season 1 Episode 16: The Brotherhood

  McKay, Sheppard, Teyla and Ford search for a valuable power source rumoured to be on the planet Dagan. The team instead uncover a giant underground chamber, where they are ambushed by Commander Kolya of the Genii. Zalenka configures his computers to work with the Atlantis's long-range sensors and discovers a Wraith dart just minutes away from the city

• Season 1 Episode 15: Before I Sleep

  A woman is found in suspended animation - and the team are shocked to discover that it is Dr Weir, who tells them of her trip 10,000 years into Atlantis's past. Sci-fi drama, starring Torri Higginson

• Season 1 Episode 14: Sanctuary

  Part one of two. A hurricane bears down on the city, so the inhabitants are forced to evacuate. However, the team's new-found enemy, the Genii, take the opportunity to colonise Atlantis, capturing Weir and McKay - and leaving Sheppard trying to keep his wits about him to secure their rescue and the safety of his people's homes

  Sheppard and the team visit a strange world whose desperate inhabitants have devoted all their energies to developing a drug intended to make them immune from the attacks of the Wraith

  Sheppard encounters the members of a youthful race who have convinced themselves the Wraith only feed on fully mature adults, and all commit suicide at the age of 24 to ensure there's no chance of them ever falling victim. Joe Flanigan and Torri Higginson star

  Dr Weir is driven to the conclusion that the team have a traitor in their midst, and suspicion soon falls on the Athosians. Unfortunately for Teyla, she finds herself caught in the middle of the conflict

  One of the Athosian children accidentally unleashes what appears to be a harmless entity during a game. However, everyone soon begins to realise the mysterious being is anything but innocuous
