  • Season 3 Episode 8: Caroline Marsh

    Caroline Marsh, who recently made her first million in the property market, ventures to Toxteth in Liverpool with her two-year-old son Ashley. Having moved to the country from Zambia five years ago, Caroline is shocked by how run-down the inner-city area is, and after visiting a creche, a youth club and a dance centre, she attempts to encourage a sense of community spirit similar to that she left behind in Africa.     Haulage industry tycoon Hilary Devey goes undercover at the Falinge housing estate in Rochdale, which has the country's highest percentage of people receiving incapacity benefits, to try to give something back to the community. She works behind the bar at the local pub and meets Sheila Acton, who founded a community centre which helps local OAPs too frightened to leave their homes due to crime

    Wealthy businessman Daniel Smith leaves behind the comfort of his home and family in Kent to help out homeless people in London. He meets those who have lost all hope and have resorted to drinking, drug abuse and begging on the streets, including a 21-year-old alcoholic who suffers from depression and panic attacks, and whose days consist of begging for cash to buy cider

    Marketing executive Carl Hopkins, who grew up on a council estate in Leeds, goes undercover in Easington, Co Durham, a former mining town that is now one of the most deprived areas in the country. Despite the last of its pits closing in the 1980s, the town has not lost touch with its past, and many of the cornerstones of the local colliery life have remained intact, including the brass band, which still competes nationwide

    Mo Chaudry, the Pakistani owner of Waterworld, the UK's biggest aqua park, moves undercover in the Harehills district of Leeds. Since moving to England at the age of eight, he has become integrated into Western culture and hasn't lived with his compatriots for 20 years, leaving him unenthusiastic about living in the area which is home to the city's largest Asian population and has the highest unemployment rate
