  • Season 4 Episode 8: EPISODE: 8

The discovery of slaves on the Pritchard farm has turned a murder inquiry into a multi-agency operation. The enormity of the case brings Dodson to Syndicate 9, keen to establish Gill's state of mind and efficacy as senior officer. Having been the driver involved in the fatal collision with Cal Pritchard, Janet is under investigation and unable to interview the man's widow Evie. Devastated by the consequences of her actions, the detective eventually finds solace in Chris's calm and kind reasoning, but when an incandescent Evie smells alcohol on Gill's breath, she has all the ammunition she needs to discredit the case and bring the DCI down

  • Season 4 Episode 7: EPISODE: 7

Janet voices her concerns to Dodson about Gill's drinking, hoping it can be dealt with amicably, so she's unnerved when her observations are taken more seriously than she intended. Meanwhile, just as Rachel feels like she's getting to grips with the sergeant's job, she makes a fatal error that puts Janet and Chris in danger. This week's crime story involves the discovery of a man's body on the moors. After it's found that he disappeared 15 years earlier, inquiries lead to a nearby farm, where the detectives encounter something much more sinister than they could have anticipated

  • Season 4 Episode 6: EPISODE: 6

She may be confident at work, but when it comes to relationships, Rachel is a disaster. She can't get Gill's remarks about her fling with Will out of her head, so ducks out of attending an awards ceremony with him, fearing their colleagues will believe she's sleeping her way to the top. He finally decides that dating her is too much like hard work and so announces they are no longer an item - a move that leaves Rachel gutted and regretting her behaviour. Janet isn't happy either - it's clear her daughter Elise is about to have her heart broken by Eleanor's son Ade. The duo are soon distracted from their woes by a new case involving the murder of a landlord and his wife who were shot at close range in their pub
