• Season 1 Episode 9: Abused Horses

  Trainee Becky Carter helps to prepare a prosecution case at a sanctuary for abused horses, while Andrea deals with angry dog owners

  The trainees visit a commercial slaughterhouse to learn how to put down large animals using a captive bolt gun. Ian meets head keeper Derek Scales at the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough, where he helps treat Fuss, an injured seal pup

  The would-be inspectors learn about livestock at Plumpton Agricultural College in Sussex. Their tasks include vaccinating piglets, treating foot rot in sheep and de-horning calves

  Helen Archer visits Liverpool with chief inspector Martin Marsh to investigate a complaint about a neglected German shepherd, while in Surrey Paul Adams introduces Helen Bestwick to his local area. Their first call is to rescue a terrapin from a polluted pond and take it to a local sanctuary

  Following RSPCA officers through their training period. The trainee inspectors are taught about legal and illegal animal traps, and Helen has to tackle a fierce dog called Fraser

• Appleby Horse Fair

  Becky attends the Appleby Horse Fair and deals with a runaway animal. Pam and Helen find a new home for a poodle named Roxy

• Birds

  The trainee inspectors are given a crash course in self-defence techniques at the headquarters in Horsham, while Melissa Furey faces up to her fear of birds

  The team investigate a series of mysterious animal poisonings in Horsham and Melissa Furey tries to find a new home for a dog

• Final Evaluations

  The students discover which of them has been recommended for graduation as they receive the final evaluations of their training

• Graduation

  The graduation ceremony for those who qualified to become inspectors, including an award for best student Becky Carter. Last in series

• Stonehenge

  Trainee inspector Helen Archer tries to deal with cats that persist in constantly following people around, while Ian Muttitt travels to Stonehenge for the summer solstice
