The Royal Variety Performance 2008

The show celebrates its 80th anniversary as it returns to the London Palladium with a roster of stars from the worlds of music, comedy and theatre, performing in the presence of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Headlining the annual charity event are comeback kings Take That, while R'n'B star Rihanna prepares to take a bow alongside songstresses Duffy, Leona Lewis and the Pussycat Dolls. Also taking to the stage are legendary Queen guitarist Brian May, Last Choir Standing victors Only Men Aloud and Britain's Got Talent winner 15-year-old George Sampson - following up his slick Singin' in the Rain performance with his latest routine, while Cliff Richard and the Shadows reform especially for the show. Peter Kay appears as his alter-ego Geraldine McQueen, and more humour is provided by double-act Armstrong and Miller, Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre and Rhod Gilbert, with musical spectacles from La Cage Aux Folles and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. The casts of Zorro and The Lion King also feature in this year's line-up
