• Season 1 Episode 6: EPISODE: 6 (2005) Ed's birthday approaches, and as he takes steps to put his life back on track, Pam and Maggie decide the perfect gift for him is a girlfriend. George gets a promotion, but is frustrated at his father's dismissive reaction and demands to know why he has always been treated as a disappointment, while Vicky finds a man suitable for the task of getting her pregnant. Last in series of the comedy, starring Martin Freeman
• Season 1 Episode 5: EPISODE: 5 (2005) Ed seeks reassurance from the rest of the family after a nightmare convinces him he has let life pass him by. George uses a range of business strategies to give Albert advice on how to socialise at school and Vicky makes an unusual revelation about a work colleague
• Season 1 Episode 4: EPISODE: 4 (2005) Ed's life appears to be improving now that he's secured a job as an envelope sealer and has a new girlfriend on his arm, until she tells him she wants to meet his family. Albert's revelation about his friend's father makes George jealous, while Vicky decides to take a different tack in her pursuit of a man

Vicky rethinks her attitude to men when a new client asks her out, while George takes steps to toughen up Albert - forcing him to play rugby
• Season 1 Episode 2: EPISODE: 2 (2005) Ed tries to find out who he really is after a week of three-fold tragedy in which he lost his job, girlfriend and favourite uncle - but his family are less than helpful. George struggles to come to terms with his own mortality as a result of recent events and Vicky thinks about dumping boyfriend Pete, whose emotional behaviour is becoming intolerable
