Azim and Khadeji use this time - traditionally one of mercy and forgiveness - to reflect on their troubled family relationships. Meanwhile, Aisha recognises the impact her negative approach to Islam may be having on others and Pom finds answers to her questions about the Divine. Last in series
• Season 1 Episode 2: EPISODE: 2 Abdullah Trevathan asks the volunteers to pray five times a day, but only Simon follows the regime. The group also explore death, a subject which is particularly poignant to Pom, who lost her sister when she was 12 years old. Meanwhile, Azim's reconnection with Islam leads him to reconsider what sort of woman he wants in his life, and confrontational barrister Aisha considers leaving the retreat
• Season 1 Episode 1: EPISODE: 1 Six volunteers spend a month at a remote Islamic retreat in Andalusia, Spain, taking part in daily prayer, reflection and study under respected academic Abdulla Trevathan. The four Muslims and two non-Muslims initially take against the notion of breaking free from everyday life for spiritual reflection, but all begin to show early signs of embarking on an intense personal journey
