Season 3 Episode 7

Griff Rhys Jones examines three possible candidates for renovation from the North of England, including a mill in the Yorkshire Dales which, with its groundbreaking Victorian water wheel, was producing electricity 30 years before the creation of the national grid. Plans are in motion to repair its turbine, allowing the generation of clean, pollution-free power once more. Sheffield Manor Lodge once imprisoned Mary, Queen of Scots, but has since fallen into ruins. If chosen for restoration, the turret house will be refitted and a walkway built, allowing visitors a magnificent view of the surroundings. The third entry is the country's only remaining salt works, where salt was once extracted from natural brine. The owners plan to repair the timber building and start producing additive-free salt once more. Architect Ptolemy Dean and surveyor Marianne Suhr provide expert analysis, while viewers have the opportunity to vote for the most deserving project
