• Season 4 Episode 13: Yaz (2007) Sheila investigates the reports of the appearance of Jimmy's ghost. Colleen blames Tommy for the collapse of her relationship, while Natalie and Franco come to an understanding. Tommy spends time with his father as he slips away. Last in series
• Season 4 Episode 12: Keefe (2007) Tommy faces trouble on various fronts when he plays hero in someone else's uniform, upsets the Chief by making a sudden move on Beth, and provides his daughter Colleen with a new reason to be upset with him. • Season 3 Episode 13: Beached (2006) Tommy faces the prospect of having to take on the full-time care of his children and maybe his ex-wife Janet too. This does not go down well with his partner Sheila and she takes a drastic course of action that leaves him in serious danger. Last in series, starring Denis Leary, Callie Thorne and Andrea Roth
• Season 3 Episode 12: Hell (2006) Tommy and Janet are brought closer together through a family tragedy, and Mike decides it's time to seek counsel about his sexuality. Meanwhile, Maggie surprises Sean and Jerry fails to show at work. Denis Leary stars

• Season 3 Episode 1: Devil (2006) Tommy's estranged wife Janet finally agrees to a meeting, but still blames him for their son's death, and a fight erupts when she clams up about her mysterious new lover. Remorseless Uncle Teddy refuses to allow anyone to free him from prison, and Tommy is shocked to discover who his godson has been sleeping with. • Season 2 Episode 13: Justice (2005) With Janet holding him responsible for their son's death, Tommy plans a deadly revenge as he tries to cope with the tragedy. Meanwhile, Lou learns some shocking truths about Candy, and Jerry must decide what to do when his wife's condition begins to worsen. Last in series
• Season 2 Episode 12: Happy (2005) When Tommy stands to inherit a fortune, his absentee sister, Maggie, miraculously reappears and moves back to her old home. • Season 2 Episode 11: Bitch (2005) Franco becomes jealous after seeing Laura on a date with another man, so decides to date a porn star to give her a taste of her own medicine. Tommy tries to persuade his nephew Damien not to become a fire fighter after Sheila begs him to intervene, and goes to extreme lengths to show his hockey team he hasn't gone soft
• Season 2 Episode 10: Brains (2005) Lou offers to help new flame Candy abandon her life of prostitution, while Jerry interviews nurses to care for his ailing wife. Tommy continues stealing Janet's medication, Laura becomes increasingly suspicious of Franco's poems, and Father Murphy is confronted over the child molestation accusations
• Season 2 Episode 9: Rebirth (2005) In an attempt to be reconciled with Laura, Franco seeks help in writing her a love poem. Candy invites Lou to her apartment after he prevents her from being attacked, and Mike's behaviour at the party leads to suspicions about his sexuality. Tommy becomes a new man after stealing Janet's antidepressants, but his teammates are not impressed when it affects his performance at a hockey match
• Season 2 Episode 8: Believe (2005) A birthday party for Peter's boyfriend gives Jerry the opportunity to tackle his reservations regarding his son's sexuality. Tommy faces the possibility of losing his children for a second time, and Lou confesses his deception to Sondra after realising he is attracted to Candy
• Season 2 Episode 7: Shame (2005) Tommy leaves his children with his father while he secretly sets up home at the firehouse. Lou hires a prostitute to pose as his girlfriend in a bid to woo his ex. Franco attends a drug rehab meeting, but admits he is still struggling with his addiction, and Jerry loses his composure when he walks in on an intimate moment between his son and his boyfriend
• Season 2 Episode 6: Reunion (2005) Tommy's life becomes even more complicated as he confronts Sheila about the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy, and then kidnaps his children. Sean learns the truth about his girlfriend's habits, while Franco's addiction endangers the lives of his loved ones. Lou is disappointed when he meets the recipient of his bone-marrow donation. • Season 2 Episode 5: Sensitivity (2005) Tommy's father tells his children a family secret he has been keeping for three decades, and the firefighter's oldest daughter gives him a lead on her siblings' location. The entire crew are sent to 'sensitivity training' following Laura's complaint about Lou's language, and Chief Reilly is forced to contact his estranged son when his wife's condition worsens
• Season 2 Episode 4: T*** (2005) Tommy continues with his haphazard rescue style as he makes his return to 62 Truck. Everyone is surprised when an unexpected visitor arrives at the fire station, while Laura reaches the end of her tether about the swearing at work
• Season 2 Episode 3: Balls (2005) Tommy is reunited with his father while he awaits the results of a vote for his return to the firehouse, but the crew seem to favour his replacement Sully until they catch him in a compromising situation. • Season 2 Episode 2: Harmony (2005) Tommy's former bosses conspire to coax him back, but the other firefighters are not keen, since they have become fond of his replacement. Meanwhile, the struggling alcoholic's new colleagues have trouble persuading him to join their barbershop singing quartet in time for the national finals in Ohio, until he gets a call from his daughter who reveals she's in the same state
• Season 2 Episode 1: Voicemail (2005) As Tommy adjusts to life at his uneventful fire station and continues the search for his missing wife and children, he remains tormented with guilt over Franco's plight. With the added pressure of his cousin's widow's pregnancy, things come to a head when he has an altercation with a street vendor

• Season 1 Episode 1: Guts (2002) After helping in the aftermath of September 11 and seeing a number of close colleagues lose their lives in the catastrophe, veteran firefighter Tommy Gavin struggles to come to terms with a survivor's guilt and his separation from his wife.
