Synopsis:
Steve Coogan stars as the diarist, naval administrator and adulterer in a drama set in 1679, when Pepys is languishing in jail, charged with treason. His arch-rival Lord Shaftesbury hears about his diary and demands he produce it to reveal his record of every bribe he has paid or received, his tempestuous relationship with his fiery French wife and his various affairs.
