TV Show (1997)

A frustrated Cockney housewife, weary of city life, leaps at the opportunity to escape her violent husband by buying a cheap plot of land in the countryside. However, far from securing rural bliss for her two young daughters, she discovers to her horror that the water is contaminated, the nearest shop is four miles away and the only job going is a day's potato picking. Drama set in the 1920s, starring Saskia Reeves, David Ryall and Rebecca Callard.
