• Season 1 Episode 8: Arctic Ocean

  The team explores the Arctic Ocean, one of the most hostile environments on Earth and one which plays a crucial part in controlling the climate of the planet. Paul Rose and the crew dive beneath the polar ice cap to examine how the ice, the dominant feature of the Ocean, is shrinking and how this could affect the rest of the world. Last in the series

• Season 1 Episode 7: The Mediterranean

  The crew embarks on a journey through the Mediterranean Sea, whose coasts are among the most densely populated in the world, to explore the profound effect man has had on the body of water. Paul Rose and the team also visit the remains of a Roman shipwreck and, under the cover of night, dive the Straits of Messina, hoping to find and film the sixgill shark - one of the largest predatory sharks in the world

• Season 1 Episode 6: Indian Oceans - Coastal Waters

  Paul Rose, Philippe Cousteau Jnr, Dr Lucy Blue and Tooni Mahto explore the impact of the Indian Ocean's tides and currents on coastal areas. They join a group of scientists working on an experiment to predict extreme weather, and dive down to a coral colony - an environment in which they can learn about changes in the planet's climate

• Season 1 Episode 5: The Indian Ocean

  The first of two episodes exploring the Indian Ocean, which accounts for 13 per cent of the Earth's surface and covers 26 million square miles. The expedition visits a 'coral nursery' in the Ocean, one of the few places in the world where an extraordinary technique is being used to repair damaged reefs. Paul Rose and the team also head to a small community in Mozambique where shark fishing is an established practice

• Season 1 Episode 4: The Atlantic Ocean

  Explorer Paul Rose, environmentalist Philippe Cousteau Jr, maritime archaeologist Dr Lucy Blue and marine biologist Tooni Mahto explore the Atlantic Ocean, basing themselves in the Bahamas. On the island of Andros, the team dives into a black hole to discover what the oceans looked like 3.5 billion years ago, and investigates an underwater cave system thought to hold the remains of the first inhabitants of the islands

• Season 1 Episode 3: The Red Sea

  The team travels through the waters of Djibouti, Eritrea and Sudan, areas of the Red Sea which may help answer questions about the past and future of the oceans. For Philippe Cousteau Jr, the expedition is also a personal mission - it is his first visit to the remains of an underwater village established by his grandfather, the explorer Jacques Cousteau

• Season 1 Episode 2: The Southern Ocean

  Explorer Paul Rose, environmentalist Philippe Cousteau Jnr, maritime archaeologist Dr Lucy Blue and marine biologist Tooni Mahto head to the notoriously hostile Southern Ocean, where they are met by storm-force winds, huge seas and mountainous icebergs. They then go in search of the weedy sea dragon, one of the most curious and enigmatic creatures on Earth

  New series exploring the planet's seas, beginning with the Sea of Cortez, a unique ocean paradise, home to the greatest variety of whales and dolphins in the world, but now under threat. Presented by explorer Paul Rose, with contributions from environmentalist Philippe Cousteau Jr, maritime archaeologist Dr Lucy Blue and marine biologist Tooni Mahto
