  Edie considers how to tell her friends about her transatlantic romance and tries to keep it a secret from her ex-boyfriend. Michael's old flame Tabitha makes him the tempting offer of a job in New York. He calls in sick so he can attend the interview and decides not to tell Edie until he knows he has secured the position. However, his subterfuge ends in disaster when he is forced to turn the post down and both Edie and his boss in London become aware of his lies

  Edie returns to London in the hope of tracking down Michael, but an encounter with his sister leaves her with little hope. However, Raph comes to the rescue, urging Michael to go to a party he knows Edie will be attending. Back in New York, Luke turns to Astrid for support as he copes with the death of his brother

  Michael and Edie decide to try and make their long-distance relationship work, but it seems doomed from the start as old flames start to crawl out of the woodwork all around them. However, it is Kristin's pregnancy that is poised to deliver the killer blow to the fledgling romance, as Michael realises he must return to London and do the right thing
