Synopsis:
Recalling the six months leading up to the birth of the NHS in 1948. The service was bitterly opposed in the time leading up to its launch by the Conservative Party and the Press as well as surgeons, nurses, dentists and doctors, but the persistence of Labour's former Minister of Health Nye Bevan helped to make it possible. Shown to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the NHS
