Ricardo and Jose join the LA Dodgers' rookie baseball team, but the warm welcome they receive is soured when one of their team-mates is charged with sexual assault. Israel passes his driving test and gets a new job, but is still horrified by the racism he encounters, and Naima receives distressing news from Palestine. Barine, who ran her own catering school in Nigeria, is now working as a cook's assistant, but her two daughters have trouble reconciling their strict upbringing with life as an American teenager
