  Part one of two. The funeral of a special agent in Los Angeles leads Shepard on a dangerous covert mission to finish some classified business she began a decade previously in Europe. As she investigates a mysterious Russian man connected to the past operation, Ziva is unable to shake the feeling that the director is in trouble and does her own undercover work to help. • Season 5 Episode 17: About Face

  Assistant coroner Palmer is called to the building site on a Navy base where a body has been found. While looking into the incident, he spots an armed man fleeing the scene with the victim's passport and is almost killed as he gives chase. It appears the document was stolen to hinder the investigation, but the discovery of a second corpse reveals a case of stolen identity and a compensation racket

  An undercover operation reaches a dramatic conclusion when a serial killer becomes suspicious of Ziva.   A Muslim Marine is found apparently shot dead near a mosque that has been linked to an al-Qaeda recruiter. Ducky causes trouble by refusing to perform an autopsy out of respect for the dead man's religion, but Abby runs tests revealing the soldier's death was due to poisoning from a rare octopus venom. Meanwhile, McGee goes into the mosque intending to plant a concealed microphone - but finds someone has had the same idea

  A Marine escapes from a psychiatric unit, acting in the belief that he is still fighting in Iraq. The agents believe his erratic behaviour indicates post-traumatic stress disorder and try to calmly talk him round before restraining him. However, blood tests reveal high levels of steroids in the man's system - meaning someone is using him as a human lab rat. Lauren Holly, Sean Murray and Cote de Pablo star

• Season 5 Episode 5: Leap of Faith

  Navy Seal Michael Arnett is shot dead while threatening to jump off a roof, and the agents discover he was taking a combination of medication known to cause severe depression. Trying to discern who pulled the trigger, their suspicions are divided between the officer's wife, his doctor and a known al-Qaeda operative he had been tracking before his death. Mark Harmon stars

• Season 5 Episode 4: Identity Crisis

  While performing an autopsy for a class of military students, Ducky discovers the cadaver he is using is the body of a murder victim. In trying to identify the corpse, Gibbs and his team are set on the trail of a career criminal specialising in identity fraud, but have trouble working out who is who. Meanwhile, Tony is distracted by the developments in his and Jeanne's relationship

• Season 5 Episode 1: Bury Your Dead

  The mission to capture La Grenouille reaches a dramatic conclusion when Tony's undercover identity is discovered and his car is blown up, seemingly with him inside. But after Ducky's autopsy reveals it was not him in the car, Tony turns up at HQ physically unharmed but emotionally involved in the case

NCIS: Season 4 (2006 - 2007)

• Season 4 Episode 24: Angel of Death

  Gibbs attempts to find out the reason why the agents are being forced by Homeland Security to take polygraph tests, while Tony and Jeanne are held hostage by a drug dealer. Jenny returns from Europe to discover she has had a surprise visitor. Last in series, starring Mark Harmon and Lauren Holly. A repeat run of the second series starts next week

• Season 4 Episode 23: Trojan Horse

  Gibbs is made acting director when Jenny has to attend an overseas conference. However, he decides to ignore his duties and investigate the murder of a man who arrived dead in a taxi at the team's headquarters, with no clues to his identity on him except a mysterious list of names

• Season 4 Episode 22: In the Dark

  A blind man unwittingly photographs evidence of a murder, leading Jethro and the team to the corpse of a petty officer who has been stabbed with a knife left at the scene. Further evidence indicates his death was not the result of a random mugging - but finding a motive proves difficult. Meanwhile, Gibbs and Tony encounter problems with commitment in their relationships

• Season 4 Episode 21: Brothers in Arms

  The team investigates the arms dealer Le Grenouille when a meeting between Shepard and an informant goes horribly wrong. As the agents begin searching for a motive, Abby surprises everyone by turning up at the lab in a revealing fancy dress costume

• Season 4 Episode 5: Dead and Unburied

  The team investigates the death of a lance corporal whose body has been found in an empty house, and makes a startling discovery regarding his personal life involving a number of spurned lovers and a $2million inheritance. Ducky and Gibbs interview one of the dead Marine's partners, but disagree over whether she is telling the truth. David McCallum and Mark Harmon star

• Season 4 Episode 4: Faking It

  The shooting of a petty officer looks like an open-and-shut case when a Russian man is found with a recently fired gun in his car. However, the case takes a dramatic turn when the Department of Homeland Security reveal he is one of their spies and insist he is released into their custody. Military crime drama, with Mark Harmon

• Season 4 Episode 3: Singled Out

  A missing Navy lieutenant's car is found covered in blood and the team discovers she had been profiling men to find the perfect partner. When further investigations reveal she had planned to attend a seminar at a local hotel, Ziva goes undercover in a bid to find out more. Meanwhile, Jenny makes Tony a secret offer

• Season 4 Episode 2: Escaped

  Against his better judgement, Gibbs comes out of retirement to help Fornell and his daughter, whose lives are being threatened by an escaped convict. The team reopens the criminal's case and questions a former sailor, the only person to have contacted the felon while he was in jail.   A suspect dies while being restrained by Ziva, who finds herself accused of using undue force and becomes the subject of an internal investigation.
