  A handsome stranger comes to the rescue when Susan is stranded at an Albanian airport, and the dashing American invites her to join him on his round-the-world adventure. Ben is surprised when a celebrity dentist dedicates a new book to him, and finds out the author is an old friend from college who is actually jealous of the family man's mundane lifestyle.   While Ben's poker school is costing him a fortune, Susan visits soothsayer Zelda Nobbs who predicts something far more deadly is on the cards. Guest starring Anna Chancellor. Postponed from April 27

• Season 8 Episode 2: Let's Not Be Heisty

  Ben's attempt to pay money into his bank is thwarted when someone else tries to take some out - with the aid of sawn-off shotguns. Things look bleak for the hostages when he decides to act as a negotiator. Robert Lindsay stars, with a guest appearance from Pauline Quirke. Postponed from April 20

• Season 7 Episode 9: Life Begins at Fifty

  Susan's severe mood swings lead Michael to believe she is going through the menopause and his suspicions are only confirmed when she is arrested for stealing a pair of sunglasses. Ben learns the cost of lawyers and decides to represent her in court, but his line of defence proves weak. Last in series

• Season 7 Episode 8: Breaking Up Ain't Hard To Do

  Susan learns two of her old friends are having marital problems, and in an effort to help invites them round for dinner. However, a blazing row soon escalates between the troubled couple, which causes friction in the Harpers' own marriage when they decide to take sides. Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker star

• Season 7 Episode 7: Abi Ever After

  Roger and Abi's wedding day arrives, but the event doesn't go off without a glitch. Ben dispenses advice on what makes a happy marriage, leaving the bride with serious doubts in her mind, while Janey is dumped by her latest boyfriend and turns up at the church already inebriated. Robert Lindsay stars

• Season 7 Episode 6: One of the Boys

  Abi tries to cook a meal for her future mother-in-law and discovers she is not prepared to give up Roger without a fight. Ben looks forward to a visit from an old college pal, only to find out Charlie is not the man he used to be. Comedy, starring Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker

• Season 7 Episode 4: Dutch Art & Dutch Courage

  Ben tries to show moral support by driving Michael to his university interview. However, a bit of Dutch courage takes its toll on the teenager, who emerges from the meeting in a dishevelled state. Meanwhile, Susan accompanies her attractive boss on an art-buying trip. Gabriel Thomson stars

• Season 7 Episode 3: Once More With Feeling

  Roger and Abi announce they have set a date for their wedding, which sets Susan thinking about what a disappointment her big day was. She suggests to Ben they renew their marriage vows, but he is invited to one of the most important football matches of the season - which happens to be on the same day as their ceremony

• Season 7 Episode 2: Four Affairs and a Funeral

  An elderly patient comes to the surgery for treatment and confesses to having an affair with a much younger woman - before dying in the dentist's chair. To cause further confusion, the man's wife and mistress come looking for Ben, arousing Susan's suspicions. Comedy, guest starring Eric Sykes

• Season 7 Episode 1: Ego Has Landed

  Kenzo's father arrives unexpectedly on the Harpers' doorstep. Janey decides to grant him access, but soon regrets the decision when he fails to bring his son home. My Family: Season 6 (2006 - 2008)

• Season 6 Episode 8: And I'll Cry If I Want to

  Another Christmas with the Harper family sees Scrooge-like patriarch Ben at his most miserable, as wife Susan is busy giving grandson Kenzo a third birthday to remember, his hated mother-in-law gets herself a toyboy and thick son Nick sends a present which could have a lasting effect on the entire household. Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker star, with Daniela Denby-Ashe, Gabriel Thomson, Siobhan Hayes and Keiron Self. A new series is due to begin early next year

• Season 6 Episode 7: The Art of Being Susan

  With Ben away, Susan decides to take her mother Grace to a cocktail night at the art gallery, but causes uproar by mistaking a dealer for a courier, and is forced to make amends by taking him out for dinner. Meanwhile, Roger finally pops the question to Abi.

• Season 6 Episode 6: And Other Animals

  Michael embarks on a military cadet weekend, leaving Susan to brood over an empty house, so it's no surprise when she takes pity on a stray dog - much to her husband's disgust. After Janey clears the loft of her belongings, Ben accidentally discards a teddy bear worth hundreds of pounds

  Ben persuades Susan to get involved in Pyramus - a 'pyramid' money-making scheme that involves selling cleaning products door-to-door - so he can raise the cash for a boat. Unaware that it is a con, the pair become excited about their financial prospects - until the truth is revealed

• Season 6 Episode 3: Dentally Unstable

  Janey becomes involved with a married man and chaos ensues when his wife confronts Susan about the situation. Michael concocts another money-making racket as he 'sells' his address to a couple looking to secure their child a place at the local school - but it doesn't go according to plan

• Season 6 Episode 2: The Spokes Person

  Ben comes up against an aggressive cyclist while out driving, and lands himself in trouble by speaking over the radio about push-bikers' lack of consideration on the roads. Susan comes up against an old rival while raising money for Kenzo's nursery, and a charitable gesture turns into a personal vendetta

• Season 6 Episode 1: Bliss for Idiots

  Ben decides to join a secret men's club to increase his social standing, but soon realises it is not quite what he had in mind. Susan becomes obsessed with lifestyle guru Dr Buck and begs him to attend her book club. Comedy, starring Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker

• Season 5 Episode 13: Going Dental

  Ben finds himself overrun with partners when plans to set up in Harley Street go awry, and Susan decides to give her husband's dental conference a miss in favour of writing her novel. Comedy series, guest starring Windsor Davies, with Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker. Last in series

• Season 5 Episode 12: The Book of Love

  Michael runs a booking agency for Roger's exclusive use, Susan hopes to take a step up in the literary world by attending a neighbour's book club and Ben stakes a claim on the sofa. Domestic comedy, starring Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker

• Season 5 Episode 11: A Wife Less Ordinary

  Bored with the everyday routine in the Harper household, Susan decides to lead her life as a free and single girl again. Janey takes the opportunity to step into the role of home-maker and Ben simply runs away. Domestic comedy, starring Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker

• Season 5 Episode 10: Dentist to the Stars

  Susan gets fed up with doing the housework and decides to hire a domestic, but begins to fear she has made a huge mistake when new employee Martha starts to take over the cooking as well as the cleaning - much to the rest of the Harper family's delight. Vicki Pepperdine guest stars

• Season 5 Episode 6: My Will Be Done

  Ben becomes convinced he is staring death in the face, prompting him to draw up a will, while Susan pitches in by planning his funeral - and Nick's new job with an undertaker only adds to the morbid mood in the Harper household. Comedy, starring Robert Lindsay, Zoe Wanamaker and Kris Marshall

• Season 4 Episode 13: It's a Window-Filled Life

  Roger's illness puts the house into quarantine, Nick embarks on a business venture with an 18ft python and Michael fires a rocket launcher through the window. Guest starring Russ Abbot, with Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker

• Season 4 Episode 12: May the Best Man Win

  Abi's father decides to remarry and asks Ben to be his best man - which proves to be a bad move. What's more, things get worse once Nick is given the responsibility of running the stag party

• Season 4 Episode 11: Canary Cage

  Ben loses his luggage on a free holiday to Lanzarote but manages to keep hold of his brand-new digital camera - and the others are not amused by his snap-happy antics. Domestic comedy, starring Robert Lindsay

• Season 4 Episode 10: Loco Parents

  As a result of Michael's truancy, Ben and Susan find themselves back in the classroom on a parenting course, where they prove to be less than star pupils. Sitcom, starring Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker

  Ben is terrified by the thought that teenager Michael may turn out like dopey older son Nick and vows to spend more time with him in the hope of avoiding such a fate.   The Harpers have a holiday to remember when Nick fills the living room with Christmas trees - for next year - then invites a lonely old pensioner to share the family's dinner. As well as the delights of Susan's chocolate raisin turkey to look forward to, it soon turns out there's a little something else in the oven

• Season 3 Episode 13: One Flew Out of the Cuckoo's Nest

  Nick finally decides to fly the nest and get a flat of his own, much to his beleaguered father's delight. Comedy, starring Robert Lindsay and Kris Marshall

• Season 3 Episode 12: Ghosts

  Michael and Abi discover the house is cursed, although the revelation fails to have any effect on Ben. Almost 28 years since Kirk Mason became the first man ever to stand Susan up, he has got back in touch, little suspecting the woman he snubbed could still be holding a grudge

• Season 3 Episode 11: The Lost Weekend

  With the children away for the weekend, Ben and Susan have the chance to spice up their love life - but he just wants to laze around the house while she is keen to go shopping for antiques. However, as they search for joint interests, they discover all they share is the need to descale the toilet

• Season 3 Episode 10: A Handful of Dust

  Ben is disappointed that his request for a no-fuss birthday is taken a little too literally. Meanwhile, Janey's weekend visit turns out to be a very revealing one when she sits her parents down to tell them the truth about her new life at university

  Nick brings home an old banger he won in a poker game, intending to break it up for parts. However, Ben decides to restore it to its former glory in an attempt to rekindle his youth.   Susan attends an audition, but is outraged to land only the minor role of shepherd number two, especially when Nick manages to win the part of Jesus.   Susan and Ben visit Janey at her new university, but receive a frosty reception and decide to use the excursion as an opportunity to spice up their relationship.
