  A man is killed in an aircrash, and Murdoch discovers the person behind the flying machine is his old nemesis James Pendrick, who has been aiming to secure a $1million prize for the first controlled flight. Pendrick is convinced that someone is determined steal his invention, and as investigations proceed a tale of conspiracy and sabotage is duly uncovered. • Season 5 Episode 13: Twentieth-Century Murdoch

  Gideon Turner escapes custody and prevents a man from being killed on the street, saying he knew what to do as he had earlier travelled to the future. He also suggests he is able to use the same technique to prevent crimes. However, Murdoch is dubious about the claims. Crime drama, starring Yannick Bisson

• Season 5 Episode 12: Murdoch Night in Canada

  The detective investigates the death of the Toronto hockey team captain found dead in his locker room. It transpires he earlier had a punch-up with a team-mate, who is an old friend of Crabtree's. Detective drama set in the 1890s, starring Yannick Bisson and Jonny Harris

  A high-stakes game of cards among Dr Grace's friends ends with a man's death. Murdoch goes to investigate and discovers the group was involved in otherworldly experiments - inducing death and then bringing the person back to life. • Season 4 Episode 11: Bloodlust

  A female student attending a residential boarding school is found drowned in a fountain. She seems to have lost three pints of blood and has two bite marks on her neck. • Season 4 Episode 9: The Black Hand

  The detective's former lover Anna visits Toronto on her way to be married at Niagara Falls. However, her fiance disappears, then someone takes a shot at her. Murdoch entertains the possibility the incidents could be related with a recent shooting of a man on a streetcar. Elsewhere, Brackeneid is ordered to clear a band of gypsies from nearby woods.   Murdoch investigates a series of deaths among members of the same Toronto military regiment. All were undergoing training in a new kind of warfare using kommando tactics. When Murdoch learns the men had signed a tontine agreement where the last man living would inherit the investments of all the others, he thinks he may be able to identify the killer.   The detective investigates the murder of a young woman who had been posing for erotic pictures. While searching through photo collections for clues, he discovers James Pendrick's wife Sally also posed for the same photographer and Murdoch fears for her life should he find out

  Dr Ogden begins to carry out a post-mortem examination on a man who had been sentenced to hang, but gets a shock after noticing a curious puncture wound in his throat

  Workers labouring to build a bridge across the Don River discover the well-preserved bodies of a man and a woman entombed in nearby swamplands

  James Pendrick and his wife, Sally, attempt to recruit Murdoch into their movement even as he investigates the murder of a member of the Eugenics Society.
