A burglar dubbed the Creeper terrorises the villages of Midsomer as Barnaby and Jones investigate the murder of a guest at an upper-crust dinner party. As the case progresses, Barnaby becomes the thief's latest victim and it emerges that several high-society friends with connections to gangsters and a police chief have a few secrets worth killing for.
