Synopsis:
Part one of two. The rural bliss of Ferne Basset is rudely shattered by the discovery of an elderly resident's drowned body. DCI Barnaby and trusty sidekick Sergeant Troy descend on the village to ferret out the culprit, only to get caught up in simmering backstage rivalries at a local amateur dramatic production of Amadeus.
