The impoverished gent is arrested for his debts and prosecuted in court by his own brother-in-law, as a result of which he gets thrown into prison. But just when it seems things can't get any worse, his debts are paid off by a grateful former client who employs him to entertain two American businessmen on the London leg of their European tour. In typical fashion, Micawber throws himself into the task and draws up an itinerary of museums and theatre - but he soon discovers the duo are more interested in dens of vice. And that's where his problems really start. David Jason stars in the Dickens-inspired drama, with Annabelle Apsion, Milton Johns and Sam Kelly
