A serial rapist spreads terror in the city, and the Newton Park team are under pressure to find him before he strikes again, particularly when Jim Oulton decides to take a hands-on role in the case. It seems they've had a lucky break when young Leon Marsh claims to have witnessed the latest attack, but as Larry Barton interviews him, he begins to think the boy is making it all up : especially when the prime suspect turns out to be his mother's boyfriend. Meanwhile, Natalie Vance's brother is accused of involvement in a car theft racket, so she turns to Glenn Freeman for help and Charlie Eden becomes frustrated at the growing relationship between DI Hammond and PC Brown
