  • Season 1 Episode 23: Red John's Footsteps

    A 19-year-old girl is dumped in California after being stabbed to death, with her twin sister still missing and the crime bearing the hallmarks of Red John. A love letter leads the team to a blind woman who is able to provide a rough description of the killer using her other senses, prompting Patrick to put his life on the line in a bid to catch the man who murdered his own family. Geoffrey Pierson guest stars, with Simon Baker, Robin Tunney and Amanda Righetti

  • Season 1 Episode 22: Blood Brothers

    A pupil at a high school for troubled youngsters is found beaten to death in a forest, and a hand-drawn map discovered in a dormitory leads Kimball and Wayne to a run-down shack. They find a man who has been targeted by a secretive gang of children, who are coerced into carrying out acts of vandalism by a mysterious leader. Suspecting they could be behind the boy's death, Patrick sets up an elaborate sting involving a camp fire, a ghost story and a willing volunteer. Simon Baker stars

    When a wealthy software developer is found dead next to his yacht in a marina, the CBI team discovers his attractive girlfriend is actually a con-artist with her eyes set on his $10million fortune. However, despite the woman's motive, Patrick believes there is more to the crime than meets the eye, and engages in a risky game of cat-and-mouse in an effort to snare the real killer

    The detectives investigate the murder of a wealthy state representative who was shot dead during the production of a film he was funding. Patrick and Kimball apprehend the boyfriend of the victim's daughter, but without solid evidence they are unable to make an arrest - and resort to staging a Hollywood-style sting operation to uncover the truth.     A car salesman arrives at the precinct carrying what he believes to be a sack of potatoes, but is actually the body of a dead woman. When it is revealed that the man is in a trance, Patrick is forced to work his way through a collection of mesmerised decoys to capture the master hypnotist manipulating people into committing violent crimes.     A team of holidaying financiers receives a note foretelling a murder, and when one of their number falls to his death during a skydiving incident, the CBI is asked to investigate. Even though all the evidence seems to label a much-maligned former employee as the killer, Patrick remains unconvinced, and sets out to prove that a lethal mixture of ambition and corporate greed has driven one of the group to homicide.     Patrick is temporarily blinded while trying to escape from a car explosion, but despite his disability, insists on investigating the death of a financial adviser also caught in the blast.     The CBI team investigates when a socialite is killed at a party, and a napkin bearing a malicious message is found at the scene.     The CBI team is called in to investigate when the adulterous wife of a powerful businessman is shot dead at a luxury resort. Suspicion falls on a personal assistant recently fired by the victim, and on her husband, but Patrick remains unconvinced and asks Cho to go undercover as a playboy to find out more about the woman's libertine lover

  • Season 1 Episode 13: Paint It Red

    A millionaire's son-in-law is believed to have been killed for interrupting the theft of a valuable Renaissance-era painting. However, Patrick learns the dead man had recently commissioned an artist to produce three copies of the stolen piece, and follows a trail of evidence to a powerful Russian oil baron thought to be associated with a variety of organised-crime rings.     The residents of a small town are shocked when a 16-year-old boy is discovered dead in a nearby forest. Items found near the body suggest the involvement of the local witch, but when the woman in question claims the true killer is trying to frame her, the team is forced to widen the search to members of the community with a grudge against their eccentric neighbour.     Acting against the wishes of his boss, Patrick agrees to prove a convicted murderer's innocence in exchange for vital information about Red John, the man who killed his family. However, the investigator is forced to question whether to continue his mission when he receives a message of encouragement from the very criminal he hopes to snare. Simon Baker stars

    An eminent neuroscientist working at a university is killed, and Patrick investigates on behalf of an old acquaintance - the man's former wife - who is also the prime suspect. However, as the agents begin to unravel a web of academic deceit, the profiler is given cause to question his usually keen instincts. Simon Baker stars

    Patrick Jane and the team head to a small town where a veteran soldier has been killed in an arson attack. With all but one of the victim's army friends dying in similar circumstances, evidence points to the only surviving member of the group.     When a star witness in a high-profile narcotics case is murdered, the CBI team concludes the killing was the work of the drug baron he was about to testify against.     A woman is stabbed to death and her body discovered in a forest. Suspicion falls on her missing friend, who has seemingly fled the scene. However, when the suspect resurfaces in a visibly shaken state, and with no memory of the events of the crucial night, Patrick is forced to consider the involvement of a third party.     A wealthy businessman is found tortured to death in the safe room of his house, and the agents discover the deceased was living a double life with a mistress.     Patrick uses controversial tactics to catch the killer of a teenage girl whose body has been found on a beach, even though his unorthodox approach risks jeopardising the entire investigation. Theorising that the victim's surfer friends may be able to reveal the truth about how she died, he announces that he is going to hypnotise them in an attempt to jog their memories - but plans a cunning double-bluff

    A woman is found smothered to death in a vineyard - and although suspicion initially falls on a drug dealer, Patrick pursues a separate line of inquiry, suggested by the fact that she was a redhead. Reasoning that her death was caused accidentally by a would-be rapist who will inevitably be driven to strike again, he convinces Wayne, Grace and Kimball to help him catch the culprit

    American drama about Patrick Jane, a detective who uses the skills honed during his former career as a fraudulent psychic to help the police solve crimes. In his first case, he helps investigate a double murder. His colleagues on the force believe the crimes were committed by notorious serial killer Red John - but Patrick's gift for observation leads him to suspect they are the handiwork of a copycat.
