Jack receives a surprise visitor while he awaits Marin's return from New York, and Patrick's decision to spend Thanksgiving with his new family puts a strain on his relationship with Annie. Jane enjoys a romantic time with Sam, and Theresa and Ben consider their future together
• Season 1 Episode 10: New York Fiction - Part One (2006) Part one of two. Marin makes a return to New York for Thanksgiving, where arrangements have been made to discuss her new book, but the writer misses Elmo and Jack in particular. Ben relies on Theresa for some charitable help, while Patrick must decide whether to spend the holiday with Annie or his new family
• Season 1 Episode 9: The Menaissance (2006) Elmo receives a special visitor when singer-songwriter Jewel's car breaks down in the town, and Marin is forced to defend her career to Jack. Meanwhile, Patrick's new stepmother Mai and Celia compete with each other in an effort to prove their parenting skills. Guest starring Jewel Kilcher
