    In the final episode of the legal drama, Riley represents a doctor accused of murdering a 16-year-old girl. Refusing a deal from the prosecution because he thinks his client is innocent, he later discovers the doctor may have committed the crime after all. When the defendant suffers a stroke, Riley comes under pressure to reveal the location of the victim's body. Meanwhile, Ariel finds the teenage thief she's representing may be guilty of a more serious crime and Brit keeps the winnings from the lottery syndicate to herself

    Jack represents the son of the Belgian ambassador, who is being threatened with deportation after being involved in a road accident. While he manages to convince the judge his client's diplomatic immunity should be extended, the case takes a more serious turn when the other driver dies of his injuries, leaving the defendant facing a manslaughter charge. Meanwhile, Grant takes on the case of a student who was expelled after participating in a sadistic college ritual and Riley finds it hard to fire his assistant

    Jack represents a white supremacist, a case complicated by government interference and the suspect's possible role in a forthcoming terrorist attack. The target for this bombing is still unknown, and Jack is determined to get the truth from his client. Meanwhile, Grant and Ariel deal with an unusual custody battle - a divorcing couple at loggerheads over what should be done with their frozen fertilised eggs

Grant represents a woman who has been dismissed from her job for associating with her fugitive brother, and Riley investigates Traub's death

    The FBI investigate the firm to find evidence relating to a multi-million-dollar corporate fraud, and threaten to shut them down. Christianson turns to Jack's father for help in dealing with the situation, and Grant grills an FBI agent in an attempt to flush out an informant within the company. Meanwhile, Ariel deals with a family dispute over whether a dying man should be cryogenically frozen and Riley is pursued by an inquisitive reporter

  • Season 1 Episode 7: The Quantum Theory

    Jack defends schizophrenic scientist Darrell Nix, whose board of directors is suing him for not taking his medication. The company feel he is too unstable and a threat to their planned sale of the microchip division, but Nix claims the drugs restrict his creativity and accuses the board of trying to steal his brain. Meanwhile, Grant is called in when a wealthy client is found dead with a prostitute - a scandal that Christianson is anxious to cover up

    Jack represents an FBI agent accused of selling state secrets to Pakistani Intelligence. Riley and Fineman defend a baseball fan who has become a public hate figure for interfering in a crucial game, while Brit tries to convince Traub that Jack was involved in Barrington's death

    Jack receives a message from an imprisoned serial killer who claims to have information about Barrington's death. Traub arranges for Jack to interview the convict, who makes a startling confession - he committed a murder that someone else is to be executed for. But is the convict merely trying to delay his own death, or is an innocent man really about to be killed? Meanwhile, Riley has less than a day to prove the innocence of a suspected robber and Ariel and Grant continue their affair while secretly plotting against one another

    Jack represents an old friend who has gone on the run rather than face trial for embezzlement - but ends up being arrested. Meanwhile, Grant takes on a case against a gun manufacturer and befriends one of the witnesses, a teenager who has suffered brain damage after being shot in the head

    Jack represents clothing designer Rebecca McCanliss, who stands accused of sexual harassment by a female employee. However, she claims that she was actually the victim of harassment by her superiors, who put pressure on Lyon's to bury the case so they can avoid a scandal. Riley receives a visit from an old friend, now homeless, who claims his severe liver disease was caused by the medication he was prescribed

    Jack takes on the case of a wealthy family whose daughter has been shot by a local boy. While her death is officially regarded as accidental, her parents are convinced she was murdered in a jealous rage. However, Jack suspects the dead girl's sister may know more about the tragedy than she's telling. Ariel and Riley deal with a teenager who has been coerced by a militant anarchist organisation into trying to blow up a shopping centre, while the police discover evidence suggesting Barrington's death may not have been a suicide after all

    American legal drama, starring Rob Lowe as principled attorney Jack Turner, who works in a small practice providing free services. However, when a partner in the parent company commits suicide, he is offered the position - with the threat of closure for his precious clinic if he refuses. Jack suspects he is only being given the job so the firm might gain influence over his senator father, and is determined to maintain his integrity in the face of the backstabbing and corruption which pervade the company's higher echelons. His first case involves a Nigerian asylum seeker who is facing execution in her home country, and is reluctantly forced to turn to his father for political aid
