• Season 2 Episode 24: Live Together, Die Alone - Part Two

  As the expedition heads into the jungle, Jack reveals Michael's betrayal to the group, leaving Hurley to decide whether to avenge Libby's death. Sayid uses Desmond's boat to explore the island's coastline and it's impossible to tell who is outsmarting whom. Last in series

• Season 2 Episode 23: Live Together, Die Alone - Part One

  A boat brings Desmond back to the island, and as Locke takes desperate measures to get answers, flashbacks reveal the tragic story that brought him to the hatch. Sayid hatches a plan and as Michael leads an expedition into the jungle, Jack is forced to reveal what happened to Libby to the other survivors. Last in series

• Season 2 Episode 22: Three Minutes

  As the castaways bury their dead, Jack finally resolves to fight back against the Others. Michael is intent on leading the charge, and selects a group of five to join him, while flashbacks reveal what happened to him during the time he went missing. Kate helps Hurley come to terms with his grief, and Sayid begins to suspect that the situation is more complex than it appears

  Jack fights to save the lives of the casualties, but while Michael's injury won't stop him putting his rescue plan into action, Libby's life still hangs in the balance. Locke and Eko head into the jungle in pursuit of the escaped Henry Gale, making a stunning discovery in the process

• Season 2 Episode 20: Two for the Road

  Jack and Kate find Michael in the jungle and bring him back to the hatch. When he recovers, he reveals that he knows the location of the Others and plans to launch an attack on their camp to rescue Walt. Ana Lucia makes a deal with Sawyer to get a gun, and remembers the events that took her to Australia

  Bernard comes up with a plan to build an SOS sign on the beach, but Rose is reluctant to get involved, and flashbacks reveal the story of their marriage and his efforts to persuade her to see a faith healer. Jack and Kate plan to exchange Henry for Michael, while Locke's commitment to his beliefs is shaken by the prisoner's revelations

  Hurley admits to Libby that he has been stealing food. She urges him to destroy his secret stash to remove all temptation - but just as he summons up the willpower to do so, a mysterious sighting leaves him questioning his sanity.   Locke is trapped inside the hatch, with his legs crushed under the doors. Unable to escape, he is forced to trust Henry to go for help.   Sun is amazed to learn she is pregnant, a revelation that comes as a surprise to Jin, who had been led to believe she couldn't conceive. Locke enlists Ana Lucia's aid in questioning Henry, and she succeeds in winning his trust, persuading him to show her the location of the balloon crash

  Claire grows concerned when Aaron comes down with an infection, and her fears are confirmed by Rousseau. Libby helps her to remember what happened after she was kidnapped by Ethan, and she ventures into the jungle to find the place where she was taken - uncovering more mysteries in the process. Back at the hatch, Mr Eko learns of the existence of Henry Gale

  Rousseau takes Sayid into the jungle, where she shows him a prisoner she's caught in one of her traps. The captive is brought into the hatch for questioning - bringing the Iraqi soldier's training as an interrogator to the fore. Sawyer discovers Hurley has been hoarding food supplies for himself, and blackmails him into helping to track an animal

• Season 2 Episode 13: The Long Con

  Jack and Ana Lucia endeavour to rally support for their fledgling army against the Others - and their worst fears are proved right when Sun becomes the victim of an attempted kidnap. Hurley tries to cheer up Sayid by giving him another project to work on, while Sawyer's secret trips to the hatch's medicine store are exposed. A flashback sheds light on his past life as a con artist

• Season 2 Episode 12: Fire + Water

  Hurley nervously tries to act on his growing feelings for Libby, while Sawyer and Kate notice the apparent attraction between Jack and Ana Lucia. Charlie experiences a series of frightening dreams involving Aaron, which lead him to believe the baby could be in danger

  Jack and Locke venture into the jungle to hunt for Michael, who has taken a gun and gone in search of Walt. Sawyer tags along - but it turns out the Others are ready for them. In a flashback, the doctor attempts to save an elderly man with a spinal tumour and forms a connection with the patient's daughter - before his wife reveals shocking news

  Mr Eko confronts Charlie about the Virgin Mary statues, demanding to be taken to the crash site where he found them. A flashback reveals more about his life in Nigeria, including how he saved his younger brother from a gang of vicious thugs, before becoming embroiled in their illegal activities. Michael resolves to head into the jungle in search of Walt - and asks Locke to teach him how to use a gun

• Season 2 Episode 9: What Kate Did

  The survivors attend Shannon's funeral, with Sayid finding it hard to keep his emotions under control. Jack is taken aback when a feverish Sawyer deliriously betrays his feelings for another member of the group. A flashback reveals more of Kate's history, including the origins of her career as a criminal

• Season 2 Episode 8: Collision

  Sayid's world is rocked by Shannon's death and he immediately seeks revenge, but soon finds himself at the mercy of the newcomers. With Sawyer lying unconscious, Michael and Jin argue he should be taken to safety, while Bernard is desperate to reunite with his beloved Rose. A flashback reveals how Ana Lucia was shot while working as a Los Angeles police officer

• Season 2 Episode 7: The Other 48 Days

  In an episode told entirely in flashback, the story of the tail-end survivors is revealed. The group recover from the plane crash, but soon find themselves coming under attack from the Others. Mr Eko kills two strangers - an action which causes him to stop speaking to his fellow castaways. Ana Lucia realises there must be an infiltrator among them, and sets her sight on uncovering the spy's identity

• Season 2 Episode 6: Abandoned

  Shannon decides to spend the night with Sayid, but the peaceful evening is shattered when Walt appears in their shelter. Locke helps Claire get baby Aaron to sleep, and learns a secret about Charlie in the process. Meanwhile, Ana Lucia and Mr Eko lead their small band of survivors through the jungle, but with Sawyer's infection and the threat of the Others on their minds, tragedy isn't far away

• Season 2 Episode 5: And Found

  Sun is distraught when she realises her wedding ring is missing, and no amount of help from the rest of the survivors will console her. On the other side of the island, Jin is desperate to get back to his wife. Michael disappears into the jungle in search of Walt, prompting Mr Eko to follow, while Ana Lucia decides to move the group somewhere safer, fearing an attack by the Others

• Season 2 Episode 4: Everybody Hates Hugo

  Hurley is assigned the unpleasant job of organising the food in the hatch's pantry in case it needs to be rationed - and the pressure begins to take its toll. Meanwhile, Sayid investigates the strange magnetic wall, which appears to have been built to keep something hidden. Michael, Jin and Sawyer learn the identity of their captors, and Claire finds the message bottle from the raft

• Season 2 Episode 3: Orientation

  Jack confronts the mysterious Desmond, demanding to know who he is and where he came from - but the man's story gives the castaways more questions than answers. They are also shown a video from the 1970s, which details how the equipment inside the hatch is to be run. Meanwhile, Michael, Sawyer and Jin are thrown into a pit, where they meet another survivor of the plane crash

• Season 2 Episode 2: Adrift

  Sawyer pulls an unconscious Michael on to a piece of wreckage from the raft and resuscitates him - but it seems as though their problems are only just beginning. Claire is surprised to discover a statue of the Virgin Mary in Charlie's bag, and Locke finally solves the mystery of what's inside the hatch. A flashback reveals how Walt's mother gained custody of her son

  Jack persuades the others not to explore the hatch until later - but Locke's curiosity gets the better of him. Shannon has an unexpected encounter with a familiar face, who leaves her with a mysterious warning. Starring Matthew Fox and Terry O'Quinn

• Season 1 Episode 25: Exodus : Part Three

  Part three of three. Aboard the raft, Michael and Sawyer argue over a blip on the radar screen - which turns out to be a boat occupied by 'the others'. The remaining castaways use dynamite in an attempt to get the hatch open, though Hurley reacts badly when he sees the numbers printed on the top. Meanwhile, Sayid and Charlie pursue Rousseau into the jungle to get Claire's baby back. Last in series

• Season 1 Episode 24: Exodus : Part Two

  Part two of three. With just four of the castaways boarding the raft, the rest of the group are baffled as to the source of a column of black smoke on the island. Claire panics as she grows convinced 'the others' are after her baby, while Jack, Locke and Kate explore the interior of the Black Rock - uncovering more mysteries in the process. Arzt makes a foolhardy attempt to prove his worth

• Season 1 Episode 23: Exodus : Part One

  Part one of three. Rousseau causes a stir when she appears carrying a rifle claiming 'the others' are coming. The group press on with preparations for launching the raft, in the hope that they will be able to attract a rescue team to the island. Jack leads a team into the jungle in search of dynamite and Walt bids Vincent a tearful goodbye

• Season 1 Episode 22: Born to Run

  Jack suspects foul play when Michael becomes violently ill while building the raft, and a secret from Kate's past is revealed to the other survivors. Meanwhile, the doctor is shown the mysterious hatch, and sides with Locke over Sayid in favour of opening it. Walt makes an admission to his father and changes his mind about leaving the island

  Shannon curses Locke, whom she believes is responsible for her brother's death, and vows to get revenge. Jack also rails against him, but exhaustion from the blood transfusion catches up with him and he collapses.
