The brave firefighters of Blue Watch return for a new series, which sees them thriving under the stewardship of new Station Officer Mick Callaghan, but serious concerns about Recall's health prompt him to announce his retirement : and then withdraw it : before rescuing a child from a blazing house in typically heroic fashion. Firefighter Frank Mooney sets alarm bells ringing for Elaine, and Sally is shaken by an encounter with him in the pub. Old faces Ben Onwukwe, Heather Peace and Glen Murphy return, with newcomers including former Casualty actress Jan Anderson and comedian-turned-actor Terry Alderton
