Elbow frontman Guy Garvey plays songs from his debut solo album and Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan also leaves his regular bandmates behind to join up with Soulsavers. Prolific singer-songwriter, author and activist Judy Collins performs and chats to Jools at the piano, while singer-songwriter and producer Jamie Woon makes his debut on the show in a collaboration with Willy Mason. Also appearing are French electro-swing outfit Caravan, and Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn will performs songs from their collaborative album

    Extended edition of the music programme. Duran Duran perform a couple of tracks from their 14th studio album Paper Gods plus a few of their classic pop hits, while John Lydon's post-punk originators Public Image Ltd return to the show to play tracks from their recent 10th studio album, What the World Needs Now. There are also performances from alt-R'n'B exponent Miguel, Canadian singer-songwriter Frazey Ford and north London-based newcomers Wolf Alice and Little Simz

    Extended edition of the music programme. The host chats to songwriter Burt Bacharach, whose extensive songbook has been reinterpreted into the hit musical Close to You. Soul singer John Newman presents tracks from his second album Revolve, including his latest track with American R'n'B singer Charlie Wilson. Plus, poet Labi Siffre performs again after a 16-year break and there are appearances by post-punk hip-hop duo Sleaford Mods, Manchester-based four-piece Everything Everything, jazz and rhythm 'n' blues singer-songwriter Lizz Wright and Dublin folk quartet Lynched
