Synopsis:
Suspicions are aroused in Candleford when it seems that Amos Wardup and his new maid Patty are becoming too close. However, when Amos' son declares his love for Patty, his father becomes furious, prompting her to leave the household. With the family in disarray, Dorcas takes it upon herself to reconcile the stubborn widower with his wayward son.
