  Joan is diagnosed with Lyme disease and hospitalized, whereupon she begins to have strange visions that she interprets as messages from God. Meanwhile, matters of religion are also uppermost in the minds of Helen and Will who start to consider their own faith after respectively experiencing portentous dreams and miraculous events

  Joan is instructed to give Adam a gift - but makes a surprising discovery when she hunts through his bag for suitable ideas.
