One-off special following the earthbound investigations of Doctor Who's former assistant Sarah Jane Smith - the curtain-raiser to a new series to be shown later in 2007. Now working as an investigate journalist, Sarah Jane teams up with her 13-year-old neighbour Maria to fight evil alien forces at work in Britain - and for their first case, the duo battle the scheming Ms Wormwood. Doctor Who fans will remember that Sarah Jane has another sidekick - robotic dog K9 - and while he makes an appearance in this special, he won't be in the follow-up series. Elisabeth Sladen reprises the role of Sarah Jane, alongside Yasmin Paige as Maria and Samantha Bond as Ms Wormwood
