Synopsis:
Nathaniel Parker returns in the first of two new crime mysteries. The detective struggles to cope following the death of his wife and suffers more grief when his godson is discovered in a bricked-up drain 12 years after he went missing. Lynley himself becomes a suspect when the boy's sister is found dead, and he is forced to enlist the help of his lawyer and DS McCaffrey's son to prove his innocence.
