    The police refuse to listen to Joseph's theory about Archie's death, as Elliot's concerns about his obsession grow. Chrissie reacts badly when Vanessa questions her professionalism in what seems a deliberate effort to undermine her, Oliver pleads to be allowed to join Jac in theatre to ensure he does not have to repeat the past three months' work, but he upsets Daisha in the process

    Maria is resolute in her determination to have the operation despite Donna and her parents' misgivings and her limited chance of survival. Oliver only realises that Chrissie is pregnant with his child as she goes through the trauma of miscarriage, while Penny is given an important task to complete, but becomes distracted by a heart transplant Elliot is conducting

    Struggling to deal with her feelings for both Sam and Kieron, Maria consults a clairvoyant. She is shown visions of her life in the past, present and future, which help her come to a decision. With only Faye offering her any assistance, Donna is missing the nurse's company as she prepares for the Christmas party and begins to doubt their friendship. Sam's bond with his newly discovered son is threatened by his awareness of Kieron's relationship with Maria, but with everything out in the open, the surgeon realises where his priorities lie

    Ric's mind is on Michelle and the grandson he never knew he had as he attempts a risky operation on Callie. A meeting with prospective adoptive parents leaves Daisha even more confused about her baby's future, and Maria learns the truth about Sam's relationship with Kieron. Donna sets to work single-handedly saving Christmas when the staff party is cancelled by hospital management

Ric is forced to face the reality of Leo's life when he is called to clear his flat and meets a drug-using friend of his late son, who leads him on a journey through the recent past.   • Season 10 Episode 52: No Breaks on the Midnight Express - Part Two

    Part two of two. Jayne discovers the Government has backed down and is going to pay for the twins' operation, but the board of directors still need to meet to decide on Jayne's future. Maria finds out Aaron is a high-flying doctor and, although initially daunted, she allows herself to be swept off her feet

  • Season 10 Episode 51: No Breaks on the Midnight Express - Part One

    Part one of two. The staff at Holby put aside their differences and prepare to separate the conjoined twins. However, the press have latched onto the fact that a man accused of child abuse is funding the risky procedure - and Jayne is forced to explain her decisions to the board. Meanwhile, Maddy persuades Kyla to forget her past and give in to the advances of her patient admirer. Concludes tomorrow

However, Elliot's distracted by the news of his son's prison sentence and walks out of the theatre in a daze, trudging through the snow to the nearest bridge with every intention of throwing himself off. Just as he's climbing the barrier, he's interrupted by an elderly gentleman (Richard Briers) who introduces himself as George and asks if Elliot can help a woman about to give birth. This reminds the medic of a similar case at the start of his career, and makes him wish he had never been born - and sure enough, in the style of the aforementioned feelgood movie, George grants that wish and takes the disillusioned doc on a tour of a world without him in it. Chrissie arranges for Mark to be interviewed for a permanent position, which he decides to take to prove to Tricia he can be counted on. Dominic Fryer returns to Holby and is attacked by a student, leaving him in need of urgent attention. Diane later finds the girl in question has taken an overdose, and suspects he has raped her as well. She makes her accusation public while he is in surgery, just as the procedure goes badly wrong

    An emergency meeting is called to decide what should be done about Connie, but she schemes to manipulate things in her favour, ensuring nobody is there to speak out against her and getting Michael to influence the other board members. Mickie's grief clouds her judgement, and Chrissie feels rejected by her father. Sean is overjoyed when Jess accepts his proposal

  • Season 7 Episode 26: The Honeymoon Is Over

    Will's wife publicly blames Connie for her husband's death, and makes an official complaint to the chief executive about her campaign of harassment. While she denies the allegations, Zubin points out several examples of her mistreating Will and the Board are soon calling for her resignation. Owen returns from honeymoon, but Chrissie is determined not to let their illicit night together be forgotten, and Sean starts making wedding plans - despite the fact that Jess has not said 'yes' yet

    The accident has left Will impaled on a scaffolding pole, with another man trapped underneath him and the rest of the structure likely to come down at any moment. Connie is called out to treat him, and realises moving either victim could cause serious injury to the other. Mickie tracks down Jodie, who claims the incident was a result of her falling unconscious at the wheel rather than a murder attempt

  • Season 7 Episode 24: Be Careful What You Wish For

    Jess goes in for a routine scan, which exposes how many weeks pregnant she is. When she begins bleeding, Mubbs is forced to reveal this information in surgery - which in turn proves that Sean cannot be the father. Mark considers resuming his relationship with Tricia, although Chrissie isn't sure it's a wise move. Mickie pressures Jodie for the truth, and the resulting revelation prompts Will to consider resigning, until an incident involving a patient convinces him otherwise - but Jodie is still plotting revenge

    As the day of the wedding dawns, Chrissie and Owen wake up together. But while she is convinced this means he won't go through with marrying Diane, she is soon disabused of this notion when he dismisses the previous night as a drunken mistake. Her fears may be well-founded, as Owen's stag night ends with him kissing Chrissie

Chrissie learns about a medical course in London and Diane demands Owen pick a date for the wedding
