Day Three

Gary Lineker presents further live coverage of the third day's play at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, where the players are set to bring their rounds to a close. Steve Stricker had made little impression on the leaderboard by the halfway stage of last year's tournament at Carnoustie, but a sensational score of 64 on day three was enough to put him in contention going into the final day. European Ryder Cup team-mates Sergio Garcia and Padraig Harrington were also in good shape, each shooting rounds of 68 to enhance their chances of clinching their first Major title.
