Gary Lineker is at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport to present live coverage of the third day's play in the third Major of the year. This is the ninth time this famous links course has played host to the tournament and the first time since 1998, when Mark O'Meara was crowned champion. Fellow Americans David Duval, Ben Curtis, Todd Hamilton and Tiger Woods have all gone on to lift the Claret Jug since then, before Padraig Harrington offered a rare glimmer of hope for the Europeans when he prevailed at Carnoustie in 2007. The Irishman enjoyed a score of 68 on day three last year, just remaining in touch with early leader Sergio Garcia of Spain to set up a thrilling final round.
