Synopsis:

One-off updated version of the horror classic, starring Helen McCrory as a scientist whose controversial work in the field of biotechnology has tragic consequences. Desperate to save her dying son, she takes samples of his blood and incorporates them into her research programme, the ominously named Universal Xenograft Project - only to unwittingly spawn a monster.
