Francesco da Mosto concludes his travels in the south of Italy, where his family have lived for 500 years. He explores the rock caves of Matera, attends Nocera's Easter celebrations where people cut themselves in religious fervour, and finds out about collapsible houses designed to help the residents avoid paying taxes. He also visits Sicily, where he takes a trip to Mount Etna and the catacombs of Palermo. Last in series

Francesco da Mosto visits Rome, the hilltop town of Tivoli and Naples, where he explores the city's subterranean tunnels and dodges its notoriously dangerous local motorists. He also stops off at the Galleria Borghese, and the water gardens at Villa d'Este, before meeting a family whose members live near the steaming sulphur jets of Solfatara

Author and architect Francesco da Mosto explores the countryside of Tuscany, Umbria and the Marche. He prepares pasta and picks grapes, before joining actress Maggie Smith to view Florence's art treasures. He also relates the story of St Francis of Assisi and visits a garden once owned by a British woman who fell in love with an Italian aristocrat
